Merz: Germany to Build Europe’s Strongest Army

Germany will build the strongest army in the European Union, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said in a speech in the Bundestag on Wednesday.

The federal government will provide all the financial resources that the Bundeswehr needs to become the strongest conventional army in Europe. This is more than appropriate for the most populous and economically strongest country in Europe. Our friends and partners also expect this from us, and what’s more, they are actually demanding it.
—Friedrich Merz

Merz also said Germany is concerned about strengthening ties between Russia and China. He claimed bolstering Germany’s military would only be to deter aggression, saying:

Our goal is a country, a Germany and a Europe that are together so strong that we never have to use our weapons.

Historic changes: Germany has taken historic steps in recent months to ramp up its military, including:

  • A constitutional change that allows it to borrow as much as it wants for defense
  • A €1 trillion (us$1.1 trillion) package of military and infrastructure investment
  • Discussions on how to obtain nuclear bombs and securing the sovereignty to use them
  • German car companies looking for ways to be involved in weapons production, as they did in World War ii

Prophecy says: Germany’s arms buildup under the guise of “deterring aggression” should be far more concerning to the world than it is. Bible prophecy reveals the nation will head a powerful, militaristic Europe that will play a major role in World War iii.
