Trump Announces Ceasefire With Houthis
United States President Donald Trump said on Tuesday the U.S. would stop its air strike campaign on Houthis in Yemen after the Iran-backed terrorist group said it would stop attacking ships.
During a meeting in the Oval Office, President Trump told reporters the Houthis have said, “Please don’t bomb us anymore, and we’re not going to attack your ships.” He said that America would “take their word”—the Houthis had “capitulated” and the U.S. would stop the bombing “effective immediately.”
They just don’t want to fight anymore. We will honor that and we will stop the bombings.

Israel left out: The Houthis began attacking ships transiting the Red Sea in November 2023 to protest Israel’s war on Hamas. The Houthis said they will continue to directly attack Israeli targets in “support of Gaza.”
When President Trump was questioned about the continued Houthi attacks on Israel he said, “I’ll discuss that if something happens.”
Israel was not informed of the ceasefire before it was announced.
Peace? It remains to be seen how much Houthi rebels will stick to their word, but one thing is sure: The U.S. pulling out of the conflict in the Red Sea will not bring peace. This is a bad deal for Israel.
