Judges Continue to Defy President Trump

Federal and state judges across the country continue to defy and block executive orders signed by United States President Donald Trump. As of Thursday, President Trump has been blocked by 108 federal rulings.

Voting: On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, a Bill Clinton appointee, blocked Trump’s executive order for proof-of-citizenship when voting.

The executive order was signed in March to eliminate voter fraud. But the Democratic National Committee and leftist voting rights groups filed a lawsuit claiming that the order could “silence potentially millions of Americans.”

Judge Kollar-Kotelly ruled that the Constitution gives power to regulate federal elections to the states and Congress, not the president.

DEI: Also on Thursday, U.S. District Court Judge Landya McCafferty blocked the Trump administration from ending diversity, equity and inclusion (dei) programs in K-12 schools.

The Department of Education sent letters to K-12 schools earlier this month, telling them to end their dei initiative or they would no longer receive federal funding. Judge McCafferty ruled that the letters were “unconstitutionally vague.”

Illegals: Former New Mexico Judge Joel Cano and his wife, Nancy, were arrested on Thursday for hosting three illegal aliens in their home, all of which were members of Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang.

Judge Cano had resigned from his position on March 3 after his home was raided and 23-year-old Cristhian Ortega-Lopez was found living in his guesthouse. Ortega-Lopez is an illegal immigrant and has the Tren de Aragua tattoo insignia.

Handguns, rifles and three phones belonging to Ortega-Lopez were seized. Along with photos of him posing with guns, gang signs and Judge Cano and his wife, according to court documents, officers found photos on his phone of two murder victims who had been mutilated, decapitated and dismembered.

President Trump has been trying to arrest and deport Tren de Aragua members and other illegal immigrants living in the U.S. who pose a threat to society.

Defying Trump: Many federal judges and state authorities are actively defying President Trump and his administration. They accuse the president of overstepping his authority even as they overstep theirs.
