China and Indonesia Lay Groundwork for Military Alliance

Foreign and defense ministers from China and Indonesia met in Beijing on Monday to discuss deepening strategic and defense cooperation in their first “2+2” talks.

  • Both nations agreed to maritime cooperation in the South China Sea, which China is determined to control due to its strategic and economic importance.
  • Significant agreements regarding arms control, law enforcement and security cooperation were also made.

Against America: They emphasized the importance of opposing “unilateralism or trade protectionism,” signaling their mutual opposition to United States tariffs imposed on Chinese and other goods.

Populous powerhouses: China and Indonesia are the world’s second- and fourth-most populous nations. Both are formidable military powers as well, with the 2025 Global Firepower index ranking China third and Indonesia 13th.

Seismic alliance: The Bible prophesies of a coming Asian alliance with Russia and China at the helm, which it refers to as the “kings of the east.” This seismic alliance will field an army of 200 million men. That is why the Trumpet watches as populous Asian nations draw closer together, laying the groundwork for deeper military cooperation in the future.
