Trump Suspends Military Aid to Ukraine

United States President Donald Trump suspended military aid to Ukraine on Monday to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to cooperate in negotiations to end the Russo-Ukrainian War.

Brawl: On Friday, Zelenskyy met with President Trump and U.S. Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office to sign a rare earth mineral deal in exchange for military aid. However, an argument broke out when Zelenskyy accused the U.S. of not providing enough support. He was escorted out of the White House before the deal could be signed.

Halted aid: Under Joe Biden’s administration, the U.S. pledged over $65 billion in military assistance to Ukraine. That is now temporarily halted, including assistance packages currently en route to the war torn region.

The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution.

Officials in Trump’s administration said Zelenskyy must make a public apology for his behavior during the Oval Office meeting and declare that he wants peace before President Trump will resume talks with him.

I just think he should be more appreciative, because this country has stuck with him through thick and thin. We’ve given them much more than Europe, and Europe should have given more than us because, as you know, that’s right there, that’s the border.

Democrats’ advantage: The suspension of aid will likely be a heated topic during today’s confirmation hearing of President Trump’s nomination for U.S. ambassador to nato, Matthew Whitaker.

Many prominent Democratic senators have sided with Zelenskyy. Axios reports they could turn the confirmation hearings of Whitaker and Trump’s nominees for two deputy secretary of state positions, Michael Rigas and Christopher Landau, “into a proxy war on the U.S. commitment to nato and support for Ukraine.”

Fulfilling prophecy: As President Trump works to end the war in Ukraine, tension between Europe and America is growing and hostility from Democrats is on display. All of this is in line with Bible prophecy. To understand, read “Explosion in the Oval Office.”
