North Korean Troops Are Fighting for Russia, South Korea Says
North Korea is likely sending troops to fight for Russia in the Ukraine war, South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said on Tuesday.
The comment comes after six officers from North Korea were killed on October 3 in a Ukrainian missile attack in a Russia-occupied region in the eastern Donetsk, according to intelligence sources quoted by the Kyiv Post and Interfax Ukraine. Another three were reportedly injured and sent to a Moscow hospital.
Defense partners: Kim Yong-hyun said the possibility that North Korean troops have been sent to Ukraine is “highly likely” because of the mutual defense pact Russia and North Korea signed in June, promising to assist in the event of aggression against either country.
North Korea has consistently supported Russia, shipping at least 16,500 containers of munitions and related material to Russia since September last year.
Asian alliance: North Korean troops fighting alongside Russia is the latest evidence of a forming alliance of Asian countries led by Russia and China. Your Bible shows these nations will continue to strengthen their relationship as they prepare to combine forces into an army of unprecedented size.
