The Netherlands Gets a Right-wing Government
Four right-wing Dutch parties announced a preliminary agreement to form a government on Wednesday—six months after their elections.
Coalition: The coming coalition is comprised of:
- Far-right election-winner Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom
- Center-right New Social Contract
- Center-right People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy
- Right-wing populist Farmer Citizen Movement
It seems the coalition members will be evenly split between political and technical experts.
Prime minister: It remains unknown who the next prime minister will be. Although Wilders’ party won the election, he lacked support from other parties. But Wilders still promised to implement the Netherlands’ “strictest ever” asylum policy. This government also plans to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Right direction? This right-wing coalition shows a swing to the right in the Netherlands, which is just one such case in Europe. This trend foreshadows a radical transformation in European politics prophesied in your Bible.
Expect major European countries to reject liberal democratic uniparties and turn to more authoritarian leaders.
