Trump Fined $9,000 for Violating Gag Order
Donald Trump must pay $9,000 for violating a gag order related to his New York hush money court case, according to a ruling by Judge Juan Merchan.
Silenced: The gag order banned Trump from making public statements about potential witnesses, jurors, counsel and others that could interfere with the trial.
Merchan said that between April 10 and 17, Trump crossed the line by making 10 posts on Truth Social and his campaign website. Merchan ordered him to remove the posts and fined him for nine of them, at a cost of $1,000 each.
Merchan concluded that Trump made these posts in “willful disobedience of a court’s lawful mandate.” He also said that the court would consider imprisoning him “if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances.”
Politically motivated: Although it is unlikely Trump will be imprisoned, this and several other court cases are hindering his presidential campaign, which appears to be the main purpose of the cases brought against him.
The left is “slowing down and slandering Donald Trump with politically motivated lawsuits,” Trumpet executive editor Stephen Flurry wrote in our March Trumpet issue. It aims to block Americans “from ever even seeing the name ‘Donald J. Trump’ on a ballot in the first place.”
Outcome: Considering the fiery opposition Trump faces, his return to office may seem unlikely. But your Bible says it will happen. To learn more, read “War in ’24.”
