Omnibus Monstrosity Funds 87,000 New IRS Agents

Heading into last November’s elections, Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy promised that the first bill a new Republican majority would pass if it won control of the House would be one repealing the Democrats’ plans to hire 87,000 new agents for the Internal Revenue Service. But after Republicans won a 10-seat majority in the House, nine House Republicans and 18 Senate Republicans ignored McCarthy’s promise and voted for a $1.7 trillion spending bill that included full funding for the irs expansion.

Omnibus bill: This spending bill is 4,000 pages long and contains virtually no offsetting spending cuts. It is a travesty on every level, yet its provisions regarding the irs are among its worst parts.

  • It allots an additional $12 billion to the $80 billion already promised to the irs to literally double the size of the agency.
  • One irs job posting for criminal investigation special agents called for applicants who were willing to “carry a firearm” and “willing to use deadly force.” After a public outcry, this job posting was edited. Yet the government still plans to hire 300 irs special agents with firearm authority.
  • It also plans to monitor transactions of as little as $600.

American tyranny: Democratic lawmakers say these new hires are necessary to prevent tax evasion, and a couple of dozen Republicans have gone along with their plan. Yet many still find the sheer volume of guns and ammo the “deep state” is stockpiling concerning.

  • Rep. Matt Gaetz told Fox News on June 21, “So here’s the Biden plan: Disarm Americans, open the border, empty the prisons—but rest assured, they’ll still collect your taxes, and they need $725,000 worth of ammunition, apparently, to get the job done.”

Gaetz introduced a bill in Congress on July 7 called the Disarm the IRS Act, which would ban the agency from purchasing guns, ammunition and military equipment. Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act instead. Radical Democrats want federal agencies to have more firepower.

Founders’ intent: The framers of the Constitution were wary of standing armies in peacetime. They could have written an article, section or at least a clause that accorded the federal government a police agency to enforce regulations made by the executive branch and to raid the homes of citizens suspected of opposing the president’s policies. They deliberately did not. Instead, they limited the power of the government, in particular, the federal government. They understood human nature and wanted to reduce threats to individual liberty.

Outside of a few well-defined crimes, such as counterfeiting, treason and piracy, constitutional law mandates that law enforcement be a function of state and local government. The Constitution does not grant the government any power to establish a national police force, and the 10th Amendment states that powers not expressly granted to the federal government “are reserved to the states, respectively, or to the people.”

Prophecy says: In his book America Under Attack, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry writes how having the Environmental Protection Agency, Social Security Administration and other federal agencies buy large amounts of weapons and ammunition is part of a biblically prophesied “bitter affliction.” The radical left is trying to blot out freedom in the United States.

Yet a prophecy in 2 Kings 14:26-28 shows that God will use an end-time corollary of the ancient Israelite King Jeroboam ii to save America from the radical left temporarily. God used President Donald Trump to save America from the forces seeking to destroy it six years ago, but the campaign to transform America into an authoritarian technocracy is stronger than ever. The radical Biden administration now has more than 200,000 agents authorized to use deadly force and millions of rounds of ammunition at hand. President Trump may truly be forced into a fight to save America.
