January 6 Committee Refers Criminal Charges for Trump

After 18 months of hearings and show trials, the January 6 committee referred criminal charges against Donald Trump yesterday. The committee has no judicial power. But it voted that there was enough evidence for the Department of Justice to indict Mr. Trump on four charges:

  • Obstructing an official proceeding
  • Conspiracy to defraud the government
  • Making false statements
  • Aiding or assisting an insurrection

Almost the entirety of Mr. Trump’s first term was spent under investigation with the Russia hoax. For the last 18 months, he has been under investigation by the January 6 committee. Now it is advising that Attorney General Merrick Garland investigate Trump further. That’s in addition to the appointment of another special counsel, Jack Smith, to investigate Trump on two separate charges.

Committee member Rep. Jamie Raskin made the goal clear. They hope to find Trump guilty of “a grave federal offense” that would be “disqualifying from holding future office.”

The left knows its accusations are baseless. At least 964 people have been charged over the January 6 protests. Not a single one of them has been charged directly with engaging in an insurrection. But Donald Trump has. Why is the radical left so obsessed with Donald Trump? First, because it recognizes that he is the greatest threat to their illegal seizure of power. But it is also because there is an unseen spiritual dimension to American politics.

Prophecy says: Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has explained a prophecy in 2 Kings 14 that accurately describes America’s political landscape today. It specifically speaks of Satan’s goal to completely blot out America and everything it stands for. But it also says God won’t let that happen. Rather, He will use a man to save America one last time. To learn more about this prophecy and how close it is to being fulfilled, read Mr. Flurry’s article “Ready for War.”
