Teddy’s friend
Last night, my wife and I were invited by the daughter of former Israeli Mayor Teddy Kollek to view a special screening of Teddy’s Museum—a new film about Kollek’s dream to establish a museum that would rival the leading cultural institutions of the world. Today it’s known as the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Teddy Kollek served as Jerusalem’s mayor for nearly three decades and did more to build up and beautify this city than any other Israeli leader.
In learning more about Teddy Kollek, it’s easy to see why he became such close friends with Herbert W. Armstrong—a visionary who shared Teddy’s love for Jerusalem, fine culture and a diligent work ethic. For more on this endearing friendship that lasted almost two decades, listen to today’s podcast from Jerusalem.
