PA TV: Israel shouldn’t exist

Twice in the last week, Palestinian Television referred to Israel as land “stolen” from Palestinians and called on Jews to leave Israel and return to their “original homeland” in Ethiopia and Europe. On the weekly television program We Are Returning, which aired on May 4 and 7, the narrator asked,

Why have you stolen my homeland and taken my place? Please, I ask of you, return to your original homeland, so that I can return to my original homeland. This is my homeland; go back to your homeland!

Palestinian tv is owned and operated by the Palestinian Authority, headed by Mahmoud Abbas.

Yesterday, President Obama phoned Abbas to congratulate him on the start of Israeli-Palestinian proximity talks. According to a statement released by the White House, President Obama especially appreciated Abbas’s “recent outreach to the Israeli people by appearing on Israeli television.”

Only in the Upside-Down World can a Palestinian leader win praise from a U.S. president for appearing on Israeli tv, even as his own television station repeatedly delegitimizes Israel’s right to exist.
