Iran-linked drone strikes cut oil to Europe

Saudi Aramco told two European oil refiners that they would receive no crude oil in October, Bloomberg reported Friday. That’s largely because on September 10 and 11, Iran-affiliated drones launched from Iraq struck Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline. Since Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed in March and began attacking ships in it, Saudi Arabia has relied on the pipeline to transport oil to Europe. Such a shortage will enhance the Europeans’ resolve to forcefully deal with Iran and its allies.
