Hamas launched the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks in the belief that Israel might respond with nuclear weapons. On Monday evening, Israel published details of an August 2022 memo written by the then head of Hamas’s political bureau, Yahya Sinwar. In it, he warned Hamas operatives:

The enemy will not hesitate to use all the means and weapons at its disposal, not only through attack but also by other means. It may even use a nuclear bomb. But first it will be surprised by the attack and descend into chaos.

It’s a window into the unhinged thinking of the attack’s planners. They’re not freedom fighters. They’re fanatics. Sinwar signed off, “This campaign is a battle of life or death, and there will be life, with Allah’s help.”

• The prospect of all of Gaza being wiped out by a nuclear bomb didn’t give them pause. They didn’t care. Their campaign is about attacking and demonizing Jews, not improving the lives of their own people.

Iran shares this mindset. Its leaders believe that if they cause chaos and death, it will hasten the return of their savior, the Mahdi. Hamas is a Sunni terrorist group with different beliefs, but they have a similar twisted view of end-time events, where causing nuclear war will provoke Allah’s intervention.

The latest document should wake us up: We live in a dangerous world where fanatics are actively trying to start nuclear war. In The King of the South, originally written long before Donald Trump came to office, Gerald Flurry wrote:

Iran is preparing itself to trigger a nuclear World War iii! At this point, America has ample power to stop it but not the will. We cannot negotiate a victory.

This remains true. Nuclear World War iii is coming—Jesus Christ Himself warned of a time when all human life would be wiped out if He did not return to stop it (Matthew 24:21-22). Mankind had been unable to wipe itself off the face of the Earth—until the invention of nuclear bombs.

This is a serious reality. God wants us to wake up to the evil that is in human nature. Only when we recognize this evil and turn to God for the cure can He heal us and work with us.

Are the Houthis Entering the Iran War?

Saudi Arabia bombed the Houthi terror group in Yemen on Monday. To this point, the Iranian proxy has stayed out of the wider Middle East war. The strike suggests this may be changing.

• Saudi Arabia struck the airport at Sanaa, the Houthis’ capital, as a flight from Iran was supposed to land there.
• The flight, by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-linked Mahan Air, was carrying a Houthi delegation from the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
• The Houthis retaliated by firing ballistic missiles and drones at a minor Saudi airport.
• Saudi Arabia has previously blocked all flights from Tehran to Sanaa for over a decade.

The United States reportedly supported Saudi Arabia:

• U.S. sources speaking with Axios claimed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday and obtained his approval for the strike.
• One of Axios’s sources claimed the U.S. believed “the plane was carrying weapons, missile parts and military experts for the Houthis.”

The background:

• Saudi Arabia sponsors Yemen’s internationally recognized government and previously sponsored a military campaign to uproot the Houthis. The campaign ended with a ceasefire in 2022.
• During the war’s previous round of fighting from February to April, Iran regularly targeted Saudi Arabia as an ally of the U.S.
• The Houthis, still recovering from an Israeli campaign against them that ended last year, tried not to get involved in the recent phase of the Iran war from February to April. The strikes suggest Saudi Arabia is worried the war could expand to Yemen.

Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry predicted Iran would leverage control of important choke points in the oil trade, such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, which Yemen borders. He based this on Daniel 11:40-43, which prophesy that a “king of the south” will provoke a nuclear world war in “the time of the end” by controlling key territories in the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Flurry identifies this “king” as radical Islam led by Iran. He explains why and outlines Yemen’s importance in his free booklet The King of the South.

SCOTUS Justices: We Need More Protection

Yesterday, Supreme Court justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elena Kagan testified before Congress, requesting millions more for security amid rising threats against the judiciary.

The U.S. Marshals Service recorded 564 threats against federal judges last year, a 57 percent increase over 2024. To address these threats, the Supreme Court is requesting $228 million next year, 10 percent more than this year. The extra funding would add six more protection agents for each justice and create an off-site security station for emergencies.

Barrett told lawmakers she received a death threat shortly after the 2022 leak of the Dobbs decision that eliminated special protections for abortion that had been created by the Roe v. Wade decision. Officers sent her home wearing a bulletproof vest. When she set it down in her bedroom, her young son saw it and asked what it was.

After the four assassination attempts on Donald Trump’s life and the murder of Charlie Kirk, which is now going to trial, people are waking up to the fact that America is becoming more politically violent. The Prophet Ezekiel describes these conditions in grisly detail, warning that in the end time, bloody crimes will occur one after another, like links in a chain (Ezekiel 7:23-24).

The Supreme Court’s request for six more protection agents for each justice is an acknowledgment that political violence and assassination attempts are now much more frequent.
