Russian Military Satellite Launches Flying Object Near U.S. Spy Satellite

A Russian military satellite launched a mysterious flying object into orbit close to a United States spy satellite on Saturday, images from an astronomy center in the Dutch City of Leiden show.

Weapon: The flying object, named 2025-089C, or Object C, was launched from Cosmos-2558, a Russian satellite believed to be equipped to constantly monitor and shoot down enemy satellites.

Two previously launched satellites of the same type also released subsatellites.

“Both of those subsatellites showed significant maneuvering capability and each fired a high-speed projectile that was interpreted by the Pentagon as an antisatellite weapon,” said Bart Hendrickx, a space researcher and expert.

Object C is now in the vicinity of U.S. satellite USA-326, fueling concerns that the Russians could maneuver it in a way that damages or hinders the unit.

War in space: Russia and China are investing heavily in the development and launching of counterspace weapons and technologies. These nations are undergoing a dramatic and rapid advancement in space military capabilities.

Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has long warned of the dangers of America’s reliance on computer systems, especially militarily. Russia and China are looking to take advantage of the U.S.’s disproportionate reliance on computer technologies.
