China and India Draw Closer Together

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval discussed their improving bilateral relations at a meeting in Beijing on Monday.

Partners, not rivals: The officials reviewed how to maintain the strengthening China-India relationship as “partners, not rivals,” with particular focus on achieving peace and security at their shared border.

Coming in the wake of the recent conflict between India and Pakistan over terrorist violence, another key point of discussion was the need to “counter terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”

Friendlier: India, China and Russia have seen a marked improvement in relations over the past several years, even as Western nations aim to distance themselves from Russia over its war on Ukraine.

  • India and China agreed to resume direct passenger flights after a five-year freeze due to the covid-19 pandemic and January’s border clashes.
  • India signed a contract with Russia for the purchase of anti-ship cruise missiles in February.
  • India is purchasing record volumes of Russian oil, Bloomberg reported in May.
  • Russian, Chinese and Indian government officials have exchanged numerous diplomatic visits in recent months.

Prophesied alliance: For over two decades, the Trumpet has explained Bible prophecies about how China, Russia and India will form the basis of an immense Asian alliance of 200 million soldiers. This alliance will threaten nations around the world.
