U.S. Wants Japan to Increase Defense Spending to 5 Percent of GDP
The United States wishes for Japan to spend 5 percent of its gross domestic product on the military, Sean Parnell, chief spokesperson of the Pentagon, said Friday.
For decades, Japan capped its military spending at 1 percent of gdp. This was meant to calm fears about a return of the type of military fanaticism that fueled Japan in World War ii and wreaked stunning devastation on much of Asia.
In recent years, however, the Japanese have boosted military spending to stratospheric levels. In 2020, they broke through the 1 percent cap and have continued to increase it in the time since. Military spending currently sits at 1.8 percent of gdp.
This equates to $70 billion per year going to defense.
Asian nations that suffered under Japan’s perverse military fanaticism are horrified that the nation is spending so much to rearm. They fear this could lead to a repetition of Japan’s ruthless attempt to conquer Asia and the world.
Pushing for more: But for Japan’s U.S. ally, the current levels are not nearly enough.
[G]iven the enormous military buildup of China as well as North Korea’s ongoing nuclear and missile developments, it is only common sense for Asia-Pacific allies to move rapidly to step up to match Europe’s pace and level of defense spending.

The warning of Bible prophecy: At present, Japan remains an ally of the U.S. However, biblical prophecy shows that the nation will soon take a dramatically different path, ultimately aligning with the very Asian nations it is currently arming itself to fight against.
This multinational Asian force will unleash destruction on the world that will far exceed World War ii.
