Japan and the Philippines Enhance Defense Against China
Japanese and Philippine defense officials met in Singapore on Sunday for talks on how to boost military cooperation against a common threat: China.
The two sides clinched a reciprocal access deal that enables bilateral military visits to each other’s nations—an agreement that will form the foundation for significant defense cooperation.
‘Enhance deterrence’: Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro remarked that Japan and the Philippines “must enhance deterrence” and “oppose actions they do not want,” referring to China’s frequent encroachment into Japanese and Philippine territorial waters near islands both administer.
As China grows more belligerent in the Asia-Pacific region, anti-China sentiments are soaring. The Philippines is regularly bullied by the Chinese and is steadfast in its resistance.
Japan has also attempted to stand up to China’s aggression, beefing up its defense capabilities and cooperation efforts with other Asian countries, including the Philippines.
Prophecy says: But Bible prophecy shows that as the United States declines and China rises and grows closer to Russia, efforts by other Asian nations to counter China will not last long. As the U.S. retreats, Japan and the Philippines will recalculate and switch allegiance to an axis led by Russia and China, which is prophesied to field an army of 200 million soldiers.
