Germany Celebrates First Foreign Military Base Since World War II
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited Lithuania on Thursday to tour Germany’s first postwar permanent foreign military base.
Details: The base houses the new 45th Armored Brigade, which is expected to reach 5,000 troops by the end of 2027. The brigade was officially created on April 1, but the state of the government prevented the chancellor from attending.
As Germany’s new chancellor, Merz was finally able to oversee the ceremonious introduction of Berlin’s new base.
- This foreign deployment will make Germany’s military more agile as Berlin improves its ability to sustain supply lines.
- As America moves out of Europe, Germany is moving in.
Breaking taboos: When the base was announced on Dec. 18, 2023, the Trumpet wrote: “It’s the breaking of another major taboo for the German military, but we’ve become so used to taboos being broken that few are taking notice. … The gradual process of removing restrictions on the German Army is nearly complete.”
We then warned that such moves set the stage for Germany to start yet another world war. “Most in the West don’t care,” we wrote. “They know Germany has a history of starting wars, but they see a different Germany since World War ii.”
Prophesied remilitarization: Even as Germany lay in the ashes of World War ii, the Trumpet’s predecessor, the Plain Truth, boldly warned that Germany would rise again. Though some scoffed at the time, this story is a major development in proving that bold forecast correct.
The Plain Truth, and now the Trumpet, was able to accurately make such claims because these developments are prophesied in the Bible. Bible prophecy reveals that Germany’s remilitarization is an ominous sign for the world.
