U.S.: Saudi Arabia No Longer Required to Recognize Israel

The United States is not requiring Saudi Arabia to normalize diplomatic relations with Israel as part of its nuclear program negotiations, Reuters reported Thursday, citing two unnamed sources.

Concession: The U.S. had previously maintained that Saudi Arabia’s normalization of ties with Israel was a condition to continue civil nuclear negotiations. This reversal marks a significant concession from the U.S.

Though no nuclear deal has yet been reached between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, this concession may signal the tone America is setting in these negotiations.

Nuclear threat: An anonymous source told Reuters that the kingdom would refuse to sign a “Section 123” nonproliferation criteria, which would restrict enrichment or reprocessing of plutonium made in reactors, two potential paths to obtaining nuclear weapons.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term in office has been a major challenge for the Jewish state. The hostage deal he facilitated between Gaza and Israel was quickly exposed as a terrible blow to the Jewish people.

At the time, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote, “The reality is, with this deal, President Trump betrayed Israel.” He continued:

This deal has exposed Mr. Trump’s flaws in a way that none of us want to see. Something is dreadfully wrong here.

What Mr. Trump has done here is going to plague him for the rest of his tenure in office! Just watch and see if it doesn’t happen that way—unless he dramatically changes course.

Enabling even civilian nuclear production could have ramifications far beyond what we are willing to admit, as Trumpet writer Mihailo Zekic wrote in April:

Osama bin Laden and many of the terrorists behind the 9/11 attacks in 2001 were from Saudi Arabia. How complicit the Saudi government was in those attacks is a matter of debate. Nobody is suggesting Crown Prince Mohammed is thinking like Osama bin Laden. But for most of the world not to care that the home country of the 9/11 attackers is urgently pushing for nuclear weapons is madness. And it shows just how desensitized the public at large has become to the threat of nuclear war.

Broken brotherhood: The Bible prophesies that the brotherhood between America and the Jewish state will be broken. The fissures between these historic allies are deepening, without any sign of a change of course.
