Iranian Terrorist Attack Foiled in Britain
Eight men were arrested across England on Saturday on allegations of planning a major terrorist attack.
- Five men, four of which are Iranian nationals, were arrested in a counterterrorism operation.
- Three other Iranian men were arrested in a second operation.
Authorities feared a major attack was “hours away” from being launched. British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper called it one of “the biggest counterterrorism threats seen in recent years.” Britain’s Special Forces assisted officers in the raids.
Late on Sunday it was alleged the attack would have targeted a synagogue or something linked to the Jewish community.
Iran: Officials are still investigating and questioning four of the men. One of the Iranian nationals has strong links to the Iranian regime, Iranian sources told the Telegraph.
Since January 2022, there have been over 20 alleged Iran-backed terrorist plots in Britain. Iran typically hires criminal proxies to carry out its attacks, but this plot was by Iranian nationals.
King of the south: As the largest state sponsor of terrorism, Iran plays a huge role in Bible prophecy. Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has identified Iran as the prophesied “king of the south,” which Scripture says will use its aggressive tactics to sow turmoil in Europe and the surrounding area.
