Kremlin: Russia Ready for World War II-Era Mobilization
Russia is ready to mobilize its troops en masse “at any moment,” if necessary, in the same way the Soviet Union did during World War ii, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on April 30.
If a great country needs to stand up, it will stand up at any moment. No one can have any doubts. … Somewhere around 30 million Soviet people … gave their lives in the fight against fascism.
—Dmitry Peskov
Peskov said “millions” of Russians are already helping the war effort in Ukraine by sending equipment and ammunition to the front lines with personal funds.
Aggressive recruitment: Russian authorities currently recruit about 30,000 to 40,000 people into the Army each month. Russia largely relies on campaigns and financial incentives to increase troop numbers, including recruitment of prisoners.
On March 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the conscription of 160,000 men, the country’s largest conscription call in 14 years.
While the current pace of recruitment is enough to cover Russia’s losses on the front lines, Russian officials say more troops may be necessary in the future as the Kremlin prepares for potential conflict with Western nations.
What’s next? While the world is focused on Ukraine, Russia is preparing for the next conflict. Bible prophecy reveals that Putin will indeed go on to fight much larger wars in the future.
