Trump Blames Zelenskyy for Delaying Peace
“Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Wednesday, responding to one of the stipulations in the United States’ “final offer” for peace in the Russia-Ukraine War. “There is nothing to talk about. It is against our Constitution.”
U.S. President Donald Trump said Zelenskyy’s response “will do nothing but prolong the ‘killing field,’ and nobody wants that!”
It’s inflammatory statements like Zelenskyy’s that make it so difficult to settle this war. He has nothing to boast about! The situation for Ukraine is dire—he can have peace or he can fight for another three years before losing the whole country. I have nothing to do with Russia but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever.

President Trump also explained the peace deal proposes that the U.S. will recognize Russia’s occupation of Crimea, not Ukraine.
“I thought it might have been easier to deal with Zelenskyy,” President Trump said, “but so far, it’s been harder. But that’s OK. I think we have a deal with both. I hope they do it.”
Europe disagrees: The European Commission has sided with Ukraine over the issue.
We welcome all efforts that respect the [United Nations] Charter to bring peace to Ukraine. It is for Ukraine to set the conditions for a just and lasting peace. We stand with Ukraine in the support of its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. When it comes to Crimea, our position is really clear: Crimea is Ukraine.

Trustworthy? Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has warned that President Trump’s attempts to appease Russian President Vladimir Putin by handing him Ukrainian territory will not bring peace.
In 2023 Mr. Flurry wrote that Trump’s attempt to pacify Putin “reveals a total lack of comprehension about who he is dealing with.”
Mr. Flurry explained some of the atrocities Putin has committed, such as bombing civilian areas and kidnapping Ukrainian children, forcing them into Russian families, and asked: “Should anyone get along with an evil man like [Putin]?” President Trump thinks he can.
