Muslim Brotherhood Outlawed in Jordan
Jordan has outlawed the operations of the Muslim Brotherhood and announced the immediate enforcement of legal measures against the group, Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen al-Faraya said on Wednesday.
- The Jordanian government banned the organization because it was connected to a sabotage plot a week ago.
What is the Muslim Brotherhood? The group emerged in Egypt in the 1920s as an Islamic religious, social and political organization. It later spread internationally throughout the Middle East, growing into the largest opposition group in Jordan.
History of terror:
- Accused of extremist violence, the Muslim Brotherhood is designated a terrorist organization by Bahrain, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
- Egypt also declared the group a terrorist organization after a car bombing in Mansoura that killed 14 in December 2013.
- In 2019, leaked documents exposed links between the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran, the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism.
Prophetic perspective: The Bible prophesies that a German-led European superpower will form an alliance with various moderate Arab nations, including Jordan. Based on this prophecy, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has forecast that Jordan will not fall to radical Islam but rather will align with Europe.
