China, the World’s Biggest Trade Bully, Condemns U.S. ‘Bullying’
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi condemned the “unilateral bullying” of America’s recent trade policies, speaking to a roundtable of diplomats of developing countries on Friday.
Rank hypocrisy: Though China’s system of trade is built on theft, coercion, illegal subsidies, currency manipulation and exploitation, the nation has decided not to admit to its toxic practices or negotiate with the United States. Instead, it is hurling insults at America and doubling down on its retaliatory measures.
- China imposed a 125 percent retaliatory tariff on U.S. goods after President Donald Trump raised tariffs on Chinese imports to 145 percent.
- China warned Monday that it would retaliate against countries that cooperate with the U.S. against China.
- Last week, Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping toured various Southeast Asian nations, working on agreements to shore up trade relations in the region and to weaken U.S. trade with regional powers.
The trade war is expanding and deepening. It is likely that it will soon engulf the wider world, forcing many nations to choose a side.
Asian alliance: The Bible prophesies of a time of economic turmoil in the approach to a devastating global war. An anti-American alliance will soon form, with China at the helm, working to freeze the U.S. out of world trade.
