JFK Assassination Files Released—No Conspiracy Revealed

Over 31,000 pages of intelligence files relating to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy were published last night in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order. With thousands of pages to sift through, it will take time to mine every detail—but so far there is little new information.

With so many pages it is possible to cherry-pick just about any angle you want. But there is still no big reveal of a cia conspiracy to assassinate the president.

No surprise: That is no surprise if you’ve been following the Trumpet and the Plain Truth. The Bible doesn’t give us every detail of world events, but it clearly spells out the main trends and broad outlines. The cia has not spent decades as a shadowy organization controlling the world behind the scenes.

• America has generally been “a tremendous blessing to the other nations of the Earth,” especially in the first half of the 20th century, as Herbert W. Armstrong wrote in his book The United States and Britain in Prophecy.

In modern times, America has been brought low from within, and the cia under John Brennan has played a shameful role in that. But the worldview of the cia as a long-term global puppet master is wrong.

Instead, some of the documents confirm the Soviet Union’s and Cuba’s role in the killing.

The Soviet connection: In 2015 we learned that Lee Harvey Oswald visited the Soviet Embassy in Mexico shortly before the shooting. The newly released files give more information about that.

“The American president was murdered by a Marxist who was in contact with the Soviet Union and Cuba just days beforehand,” writes Mr. Flurry in his booklet Great Again. “It took the government 52 years to declassify this relevant information, and still large sections of the document are blotted out.” What appears to be the same memo is now available with few redactions.

Mr. Flurry continues:

For decades, the government’s own official explanation was that Oswald was just a lone gunman. But the threat to America was—and is—much greater than that. Did the Castro brothers have a big hand in assassinating the U.S. president? I’m not saying that happened, but with this report it certainly seems like you could make a strong case for it.

President Kennedy caught the Soviets as they tried to deploy nuclear-capable supersonic missiles to Cuba. The Soviets tried to put these missiles at point-blank range, less than 100 miles off the coast of the United States. Once those weapons were launched, they probably would have evaded detection and detonated in Miami; Washington, D.C.; and New York City without any warning! The leaders of Cuba and the Soviet Union clearly had designs on destroying America!

Do you suppose the Soviets and the Castros were wrathful against John F. Kennedy? His administration ruined a plan that would have either held America at nuclear gunpoint—or would have destroyed it in gigantic nuclear balls of fire! I would think that would make them very angry and revengeful! Just over a year later, Kennedy was dead.
