Syrian Armed Forces Fight Hezbollah
Armed forces under the new Syrian administration began fighting Iran-backed Hezbollah forces along the Syria-Lebanon border on Thursday.
Syria’s army repelled advances by Hezbollah fighters near the Syrian town of al-Qusayr. The town was a longtime smuggling route for Hezbollah under former Syrian President Bashar Assad until it was captured by Syrian rebel forces in December.
As clashes escalated Thursday, Syrian forces pushed Hezbollah fighters back into Lebanon, then advanced to a Lebanese town in Hermel. Hezbollah forces fled.
Change: Under Assad’s regime, Hezbollah used Syria as a transport line to smuggle weapons, narcotics and other supplies from Iran. But with Assad’s fall, Syria is no longer supporting Iran and its terrorist proxies.
Just days before Assad was ousted, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry said to “expect dramatic change in Syria.” He said this because the Bible prophesies Syria and Iran will be in opposing alliances in the end time.
