Advanced weapons: South Korea’s military expects North Korea to continue to push for the launch of advanced weapons such as spy satellites or intercontinental ballistic missiles. Pyongyang launched two missiles earlier this month just days before the inauguration of Donald Trump, one of which it claimed to be a hypersonic missile.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff also warned that North Korea is ready to provoke South Korea with short-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles or balloons at any time. It said the military must “bolster surveillance and its readiness posture.”
North Korea-Russia ties: In the past two decades, North Korea has undergone an impressive military buildup. Many Western leaders are concerned that Russia has been helping it become a formidable nuclear power. According to a recent United States report, Russia is also sending advanced space technology to North Korea.
North Korea has shown its support for Russia in recent months by sending more than 11,000 of its own troops to the front lines in Russia’s war on Ukraine. Multiple reports have said more North Korean troops will be sent soon.
Asian alliance: Expect military ties between Russia, North Korea and other powerful Asian countries to grow even stronger. Bible prophecy foretells of the formation of a colossal Asian army that will play a central role in mankind’s last global war.
