Report: Hezbollah Suffering Waves of Desertions

Following Israel’s successful attacks against Hezbollah forces in recent weeks, significant numbers of the remaining terrorists in southern Lebanon are leaving the group, Arabic newspaper Elaph reported Sunday.

Why it matters: Hezbollah is fighting for its survival against Israel. These mass desertions, in addition to other losses, will likely lead to its fall.

Israel’s success: Israel has been highly successful in its retaliation against the terrorist organization.

Even before Israel’s recent offensive, it seemed Hezbollah feared an invasion. Now that the invasion has begun, Israel’s successes are cause for more fear.

Deserters: According to Elaph’s sources, those defecting are either refusing to report for duty or fleeing their posts. Many are relocating with their families to Syria.

As a result Hezbollah is attempting to send more terrorists to Lebanon’s south to deter Israel. But its ability to communicate with its soldiers is disrupted.

Though desertions are currently focused in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah’s authorities fear more defections throughout Lebanon.

Compounding the problem for Hezbollah, after the recent series of humiliations the group is struggling to enlist new recruits.

Prophesied fall: The Bible prophesies that Lebanon will not be under Iran’s influence in the near future. Because of this, the Trumpet has said for years that the Iran-backed organization will lose its grip on Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s fall will help set the stage for the greatest conflict in the Middle East’s history.
