Manpower Shortage Could Sideline U.S. Ships

The United States’ Military Sealift Command (msc) drafted a “great reset” plan to reassign the crews of 17 U.S. Navy ships due to a lack of qualified personnel, the U.S. Naval Institute reported Thursday.

Why it matters: As the world scene becomes more turbulent, it is increasingly vital that the U.S. has a strong military. Its Navy is already in bad shape, and shortages of viable personnel only exacerbate the condition.

Details: The “great reset” plan includes reassigning the crews of 12 Spear-head class Expeditionary Fast Transports, two forward-deployed Navy expeditionary sea bases, two Lewis and Clark replenishment ships, and one fleet oiler.

These crewmen would be moved to other vessels, and the 17 abandoned ships would enter an “extended maintenance” period. This would greatly reduce the need for civilian mariner living quarters, but it would also leave Americans and its allies with weaker defenses.

Prophesied decline: The Bible prophesies the rise and fall of America’s unmatched military might. It warns that the U.S.’s decline will contribute to the worst war mankind has ever suffered.
