The World’s Hidden Warfare Is Everywhere
A couple of news stories this morning shine light on the hidden warfare going on all around us.
President Trump said the U.S. had “knocked out … a big facility” in Venezuela during a radio interview last week. Yesterday he said it was a loading area for drugs. cnn claims the U.S. launched a drone strike on a port facility on the Venezuelan coast, citing anonymous sources. If true, this would be America’s first strike on Venezuelan soil.

Meanwhile, Spanish investigators have uncovered tantalizing details about a Russian ship, the Ursa Major, which sank in the Western Mediterranean over a year ago. It was listed as carrying “empty containers, port cranes and hatch covers for a new icebreaker” and was reported as sinking due to an accidental internal explosion.
Now Spanish news site La Verdad reports that the cargo was actually nuclear reactors for use in submarines, the ship was heading for Venezuela, and the blast pattern shows the explosion came from outside the ship.
The Telegraph wrote:
The cargo’s significance cannot be overstated. These reactor components are highly specialized, produced in limited numbers during the late Soviet period by state enterprises under what is now Rosatom’s oversight. Manufacturing such reactor casings demands precision engineering for extreme pressure and radiation containment. This kind of work is not easily replicated, especially under sanctions. For North Korea, struggling to develop its first nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (the one that was recently unveiled in hull form), Russian assistance—whether technical detail or actual hardware—would be a game-changer. It has long been assumed that Russia is providing such help in exchange for artillery shells and soldiers coming the other way for use against Ukraine.
So Russia was caught secretly helping North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, and someone sank that shipment.
Winston Churchill said that “the story of the human race is war.” Today we see war as a historic relic, or something that only happens in far-off places. Meanwhile war is waged all around us in ways we rarely glimpse. We are a lot closer to war—including nuclear war—than we like to think.
Read about the imminence of nuclear catastrophe—and God’s purpose for allowing it—in Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry’s booklet Nuclear Armageddon Is ‘At the Door.’
Russian nuclear missiles now ‘on combat duty’ in Belarus: Russia’s Defense Ministry published the first images of its new nuclear-capable intermediate-range ballistic missile system in Belarus yesterday, claiming its system is now “on combat duty” there. Called the Oreshnik, the missile’s range is believed to exceed 3,000 miles, placing most of Europe within striking distance.
- Russian media say it could strike a Polish air base in 11 minutes and nato’s Brussels headquarters in 17 minutes.
- Russian President Vladimir Putin claims these missiles “can’t be intercepted” and that several units armed with conventional warheads could be “as devastating as a nuclear attack.”
- The deployment follows Putin’s new nuclear doctrine, published in 2024, that says if a non-nuclear nation carries out a conventional attack on Russia with the support of a nuclear-armed state, Moscow will treat it as a joint attack, and may respond with a nuclear strike.
European fear: When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry said the move would frighten Europeans in a way that would spur them to militarize and unify their nations. He based his analysis on Bible prophecy:
We have been prophesying for around 70 years that Eastern Europe would become a vital part of a new European superpower—a resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire. This prophecy is directly related to the Crimean crisis! The fear you see in Europe because of events in Crimea is going to cause 10 leaders in Europe to unite in a sudden and dramatic way—and in precise accordance with the Bible’s description of that European empire!
The people of Europe watched in alarm as Russia annexed Crimea. Today, as they witness Russia’s intensifying full-scale war on Ukraine and its deployment of unfathomably destructive nuclear weapons on their doorstep, the fear is intensifying. It is prompting the Europeans to unify and militarize. Learn more in “Russia’s War on Ukraine Is Reshaping Europe.”
A century of Lufthansa: worth celebrating?: Lufthansa, Germany’s dominant airline, will celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2026. As Germany continues remilitarizing much of its world-class manufacturing and business sectors, it is worth considering the history of its national carrier.
- Lufthansa gave Adolf Hitler free air travel during the 1932 election campaign. Hitler was the first politician to campaign via air, and this helped present the National Socialist Party as a modern and sophisticated movement.
- The Nazi party saved Lufthansa from collapse by using it to covertly and illegally repair the German air force.
- Lufthansa used forced labor, including 10,000 slaves who were imported from conquered territories. Some of these slaves were children.
- The airline trained many cadet pilots for the German air force.
In addition, many of the airline’s leaders from the World War ii period returned to leadership positions after 1953. As Deutsche Welle reported Monday:
-
Kurt Weigelt, whose war crimes resulted in a two-year prison sentence, became Lufthansa’s supervisory board chairman in 1953. After he retired, Weigelt became the airline’s only ever honorary board member.
Lufthansa said it will use “its 100th anniversary as an opportunity to critically reexamine its responsibility during the Nazi era.” However, according to journalist David de Jong, any unfavorable findings are unlikely to be made public.
Lufthansa is just one example of how many Nazi sympathizers associated with major corporations escaped accountability and went into hiding or even reassumed positions of power.
Bible prophecy shows why we should not ignore this ominous history. It foretold the German war machine’s escape to the underground—and its soon-coming reemergence. German businesses played a major role in help Nazis escape and returning Germany to power. To learn more, read “Rising From the German Underground.”

‘Death to Khamenei’ protests in Iran: What media is calling “Iran’s largest protests in three years” exploded this week amid soaring inflation and other economic woes. Merchants, students and others are shouting, “Death to Khamenei,” and “Death to the dictator,” aiming their grievances at the highest levels of Iran’s regime. Iran’s short-term political future appears shaky, but just as it did throughout the Israeli and U.S. attacks on Iran and its proxies earlier this year, the Trumpet emphasizes that Iran itself and radical Islam overall will increase in power, not decrease. This is due to a prophecy in Daniel 11: Iran is “the king of the south.”
Did Ukraine try to assassinate Vladimir Putin? Or is Putin lying to derail the peace talks? Russia’s foreign ministry said on Monday that 91 Ukrainian long-range drones had been shot down over Putin’s residence. Russia has produced no proof, however. “Analysts and independent Russian outlets have argued that the claim remained highly dubious, given the lack of any footage, local reports of air defense activity or debris from the incident,” noted the Telegraph. “Earlier reports by Russia’s defense minister conflicted with Mr. Lavrov’s statements.” It looks like Putin has no intention of making peace, and is instead looking for a way of ending the talks while blaming Ukraine for their failure.
Switzerland to boost military spending? The head of the Swiss armed forces, Thomas Suessli, said in an interview published Saturday that Switzerland cannot “defend against threats from a distance or even a full-scale attack on our country.” He said that “in a real emergency, only a third of all soldiers would be fully equipped.” Switzerland has moderately increased military spending, but only at a pace that will make it fully functional around 2050. Suessli said that is far too slow and that Switzerland’s neutral status won’t necessarily protect it should war come. “Neutrality only has value if it can be defended with weapons,” he argued. Suessli is particularly fearful of the Russian threat. The Bible prophesies that Europe will continue militarizing, and that its first target will not be Russia.
Russia’s neighbors are fortifying themselves: Latvia just finished a 174-mile fence along its Russian border. Lithuania is beginning its border fortifications, including preparing key bridges close to its borders with Russia and Belarus for demolition. This digging in is another concrete proof of how fearful Europeans are becoming. When Russia invaded Crimea in 2014, Gerald Flurry wrote, “The fear you see in Europe because of events in Crimea is going to cause 10 leaders in Europe to unite in a sudden and dramatic way—and in precise accordance with the Bible’s description of that European empire!” Watch for the imminent fulfillment of this key Bible prophecy.
According to a new definition, 75 percent of Americans are obese: Researchers from Harvard, Yale and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center claim the older body mass index definition under-measured obesity rates by putting them at just 40 percent. The proposed new criteria expands to include measurements of fat tissue and the waist. This multi-measure approach gives a wider picture of how serious America’s obesity crisis is. Its causes: inactivity, poor food quality and rejection of God’s agricultural laws.
