Germany’s Real Plan for Canada

Amid the U.S.-Canada trade war, watch Germany.

United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order to rename Lake Ontario “Lake America” on August 27. That’s one of the biggest headlines regarding the ongoing U.S.-Canada trade war; it’s also one of the shallowest. A deeper look at this trade war exposes a foreign power’s plans to subjugate North America by sowing division.

Since President Trump began his second term, Canada and the U.S. have had a tense trade relationship marred by continuous threats of tariffs and counter-tariffs.

In July, President Trump used a depression-era congressional act to impose 50 percent tariffs on some Canadian goods starting August 19. His administration claimed that Canada was discriminating against American cars, alcohol and dairy.

That threat brought Canada to the negotiating table to avert the potential levies and negotiate a new trade deal. On August 18, Trump announced on social media that a trade deal was reached, subject to finalization. That led him to extend the tariff deadline to August 22 to accommodate a deal.

On August 21, however, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney instructed negotiators to leave the table. Reports suggest the reason was disagreements on both sides over last-minute requests relating to auto parts and foreign trade deals.

Whatever the reason, the aftermath of Carney’s decision led to 50 percent tariffs on $20 billion in Canadian goods taking effect August 22. Canada responded with matching tariffs that will take effect September 8.

This is being amped up as a trade war. After the tariffs took effect, Carney stated: “We were attacked. You’re at war when you get attacked.”

Why is Carney so confident in his standing against the world’s largest economy and military power? It’s not just because he has strong public approval; it’s because he has Europe’s backing.

The real country to watch in this saga isn’t Canada or the U.S.—it’s Germany.

A Strong ‘Friendship’

Since Mark Carney became prime minister in March 2025, he has pursued an agenda of closer ties with the European Union and a pivot from the United States. He believes the “new world order will be built from Europe,” and he wants to align Canada with it.

In line with that agenda, Carney announced plans to address the European Parliament next month. This is not a one-sided relationship; Germany, the real power behind the EU, wants to bring Canada into its orbit.

In an August 27 article titled “This Is the German Secret Plan With Canada,” Bild stated that the German government is conducting “a diplomatic operation of great significance.” It added that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is “building a new axis over the Atlantic” and that Germany wants Canada as its “strategic super partner in the future.”

Those are revealing words. Germany is working to cut out the U.S. and use Canada as a “strategic super partner” to do so. All of this, of course, is being done “behind the scenes,” just as Germany courted Mexico and South America behind the scenes in World War i.

Carney is happy to help Germany in this. He has held confidential phone calls with his German counterpart “several times” in recent weeks to discuss further economic, defense and energy cooperation, Bild noted.

As if June’s $70 billion submarine deal with Germany’s tkms, which opened the door to Canadian-Norwegian-German patrols in the North Atlantic, wasn’t already close enough cooperation.

Germany is preying on Canada’s dislike of America’s current trade policy. Canada is inviting its historic enemy into its otherwise nearly impenetrable turf.

Germany’s Plan

Canada has many natural resources and critical materials. Germany wants those to help build its military and has signed trade deals to boost access to them. However, what Germany really wants the most from Canada is its geographic location. Canada’s geography offers a launch pad to invade the U.S.

America’s only major geographic weakness is its northern and southern neighbors. That’s why Germany tried to get Mexico to join it World War i. Had Mexico taken Berlin up on that offer, World War i may have had different victors.

Germany is courting Canada to use its geography as a tool against the American superpower. That’s a bold claim, but don’t forget it tried to conquer America just a few generations ago. And Bible prophecy, which foretold Nazi Germany, also prophesies that Germany will destroy America in a third round.

This summer, behind-the-scenes discussions gave us a glimpse of how German officials plan to use Canada.

In a May 5 article, “How a German Company Could Bring the U.S.A. to Its Knees,” German finance publication WallStreet Online wrote that German “government agencies are preparing a counterstrategy [to U.S. tariffs] behind closed doors. The goal: to identify strategic weaknesses in U.S. supply chains.”

One major weakness they identified was potash—a key ingredient in fertilizers. No fertilizer means fewer crops, and fewer crops, naturally, lead to food shortages.

America imports up to 80 percent of its potash from Canada. German company K+S owns one of the largest potash factories in Canada. Currently, Germany can’t use this as a weapon because it’s outside its jurisdiction. The article suggested that the purpose of German Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil’s May 7–9 visit to Canada was to see if Canada would support such a motion.

The fact that it was even discussed shows German officials are thinking of ways to subdue the U.S. and that Canada factors into their equations.

The Bible’s Warning

“Because the quarrel with U.S. President Trump is getting more and more intense, Canada suddenly looks to Europe—and Germany,” Bild wrote.

That’s exactly what the Bible prophesies will happen. Hosea 5:13 states that Ephraim, a prophetic name for the British Commonwealth, would turn to “the Assyrian,” an ancient name for modern Germany.

Isaiah 9:21 prophesies of clashes between Ephraim and Manasseh, the prophetic name for the U.S. today. This tension between America and Canada is a curse for both nations’ disobedience of God’s laws. It’s a curse for rejecting their history with God.

Hosea 5 warns that Canada will fall to that European superpower at the same time as the U.S. Canada will be betrayed. Its efforts under the Carney government to draw closer to Germany will lead to catastrophe and make it easier to conquer.

That betrayal will start with an economic siege, or a trade war. Isaiah 23 and Ezekiel 27 prophesy that the end-time nations of Israel, primarily referring to the U.S. and British Commonwealth, will be cut off completely from world trade by a united, German-led Europe.

Following that, as Ezekiel 5 lays out, a military invasion by that German power will commence. One third of Canadians and Americans will be taken captive as slaves.

That’s what this relationship is building toward and empowering. That’s Germany’s plan for Canada.
