Comey Indictment: The Elusiveness of Justice

Good morning!

The crimes of Obama-era officials are legion. In his book America Under Attack, Gerald Flurry details how they incessantly undermined a sitting U.S. president, then overturned an American election, and he exposes their evil spiritual source. Yet none of the primary perpetrators have faced any accountability.

Is yesterday’s indictment of James Comey the beginning of these crimes being brought to justice? The prophesied attack on America has been significantly curbed, but the sickness within the government runs deep. In fact, God says it fills the body politic head to toe (Isaiah 1:5-6). It will take more than a federal grand jury to heal this sickness.

[BRIEF]

Comey indictment: the elusiveness of justice: A federal grand jury in Virginia indicted former fbi Director James Comey yesterday on two felony counts. Attorney General Pam Bondi lauded the Justice Department’s “commitment to holding those who abuse positions of power accountable,” while the media slammed it as “Trump’s revenge strike.”

  • The charges relate to testimony Comey gave to Congress on Sept. 30, 2020, denying authorization of fbi leaks to the media—one for “false statements” and one for “obstruction of a federal proceeding.”

These are extremely light counts for a man who deliberately used a fraudulent dossier to secretly investigate the president, entrapped the attorney general and got him fired, and leaked classified information to the media, among other crimes.

However, those seeking justice over Russiagate hope the doj’s action pries the case open for more prosecutions. As Conservative Treehouse writes:

This count could open the door to public testimony by McCabe, Rice, Mook, Brennan and even Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton herself as to Comey’s knowledge; each was a firsthand witness. … I hope the intent is not just to incarcerate Comey per se—but rather to use what Comey represents to indict the entire enterprise around him.

We shouldn’t hold our breath. The lack of substantive indictments to this point speaks to the depth of the institutional resistance Trump officials face within these federal law enforcement bodies. Stonewalling by deep state actors, even with Trump loyalists leading institutions like the doj and fbi, remains fierce.

President Trump had to fire the U.S. attorney who refused to prosecute Comey to get a lawyer who would. The left argues this is clear corruption—but it is just one example of the fact that nothing will happen unless drastic action is taken. And there is little to suggest that actions will be drastic enough to truly cleanse and rehabilitate these federal bodies. The scale of defiance in the face of just two small counts against James Comey underscores the depth of the problem.

God indicts America for its lack of justice: “[J]udgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street …” (Isaiah 59:14). Read America Under Attack to understand the spiritual dimension to this legal war.

Germany races into space: Space warfare is intensifying, and Germany needs to meet the moment, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told a space conference in Berlin yesterday. He cited the need to counter Russian spy satellites that are chasing German military satellites and announced plans to invest $41 billion in space defense over the next five years.

  • “Russia and China have expanded their capabilities for warfare in space rapidly over the past years: They can disrupt satellite operations, blind satellites, manipulate or kinetically destroy them,” Pistorius warned.
  • Attacks on satellite networks “can paralyze entire states,” he said.
  • Russia might even conduct nuclear strikes in space, he added.

Bible prophecy shows that satellites and space warfare will play a major role in the next world war and that Germany will be a major combatant.

Since the 1990s, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has warned about nations heavily relying on computer technology, particularly the U.S. Prophecy reveals that one nation will indeed be paralyzed by a surprise attack: “They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof” (Ezekiel 7:14). In “America’s Achilles’ Heel—and Germany,” Mr. Flurry explained that this prophecy refers to Germany disabling U.S. military technology and launching a surprise attack.

Germany’s growing commitment to boosting its capabilities in space will surely play a role in fulfilling this forecast.

Trump: Israel will not annex West Bank: “I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank,” Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office today. Regarding the conflict in Gaza, he said, “It’s time to stop.”

Israel has threatened for weeks to annex some or all of the West Bank in retaliation for Australia, Canada, France, the United Kingdom and six other Western countries recognizing Palestine as a sovereign nation this month. The big question was how the U.S. would respond. We now have an answer.

Israel is finding itself increasingly isolated. When Benjamin Netanyahu took the stage at the United Nations General Assembly this morning, almost all the delegates walked out, and he spoke to a nearly empty hall. President Trump’s on-again-off-again support for Netanyahu’s actions put the prime minister in a bind. And he is running out of options—and allies.

Prophecy shows that in the end, Israel will go hunting for support outside the United States. You can read about this in “Jerusalem: About to Explode,” Chapter 3 in Gerald Flurry’s booklet Jerusalem in Prophecy.

America could sell Turkey F-35 fighter jets, President Trump indicated yesterday as he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. “He needs certain things, and we need certain things, and we’re going to come to a conclusion,” Trump said. During the same discussion, he encouraged Erdoğan to stop buying oil from Russia. In the newest issue of the Trumpet, Mr. Flurry asks, “Is Turkey a good ally for America? Bible prophecy says Turkey is going to betray America.” Turkey already hosts U.S. nuclear bombs on its soil: Now it could get stealth jets capable of carrying them.

Finland’s president called for United Nations reforms on Wednesday in a speech to the General Assembly, requesting that veto power be stripped from Russia and China. Such a change is unlikely, but the speech highlighted the fundamental disharmony within this rowdy international body. It came the same week that President Trump and Argentine President Javier Milei called out the UN’s many failings from that same stage, and shortly before today’s mass walkout during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech—all evidence of this institution’s, and of mankind’s, inability to attain world peace.

Trump saved TikTok, arranging yesterday for a consortium of American investors to buy 80 percent of the Chinese-owned and Chinese Communist Party-controlled social media platform. A 2024 law banned TikTok, starting this past January 17, and President Trump extended the deadline to December to finalize a deal, which would license the TikTok algorithm and data security for U.S. users to U.S. firms like Oracle. But the detrimental effect of TikTok content on its users will continue.

Young Americans are falling in love with socialism, according to a survey conducted for Yale University’s William F. Buckley Institute. Some 46 percent of 820 undergraduates surveyed at four-year colleges from September 5 to 14 agreed with the statement, “While socialist countries like Cuba and the Soviet Union have not been perfect, they offer a better economic model than capitalist countries like the United States.” Even more disturbingly, roughly 40 percent of those surveyed said physical violence can be justified to prevent a person from spreading hate. As our article “American Bolsheviks” shows, such dangerous thinking is pushing America toward civil war.
