Blaming Israel for the ‘Blue Tsunami’

Good morning,

Republicans and Democrats are both drawing the same lesson from the stunning results of Tuesday’s midterm elections: Israel is a liability. Standing with the Jewish state costs votes.

[BRIEF]

The left has already turned against Israel. Sixty-five percent of Democrats polled now sympathize more with the Palestinians; only 17 percent side with Israel.

  • In April 2025, 15 Senate Democrats voted to block an arms sale to Israel. This April, 40 of 47 did, and every Democrat with presidential ambitions voted to block both sales. Several of those 2028 hopefuls have sworn off money from the pro-Israel lobby aipac, which Democrats now treat as toxic.
  • Michigan’s new senator, Abdul El-Sayed, calls Israel’s war in Gaza a genocide and wants its military aid cut off.
  • Minnesota’s Peggy Flanagan campaigned on blocking bomb sales to Israel.
  • Denver elected a socialist who was fired from her law firm for questioning Israel’s legitimacy as a state.
  • Islam is growing in America and is on track to pass Judaism as the nation’s largest non-Christian religion within 15 years.

Now the right is turning. Gallup found Republican sympathy for Israelis has dropped 10 points since 2024, to its lowest level since 2004. Among Republicans under 50, Pew finds a majority now view Israel unfavorably.

  • The morning of Election Day, President Trump announced he will end America’s $4 billion in annual aid to Israel. His reason? “Why should we suffer the slings from lunatics like an El-Sayed?” he asked. In other words, supporting Israel has become a political liability. (El-Sayed won that night anyway.)
  • In a remarkable X post the day after, Vice President JD Vance said Republicans lost because of the Iran war, and that among the reasons Trump voters defected was that they want to “change our relationship to Israel.” The president called his post “largely true.” His son said every word was “100%.”

The young are leading the way. For the first time in Gallup’s 25 years of polling, Americans overall no longer side more with Israel than with the Palestinians. Among adults under 35, polls show majorities sympathizing more with the Palestinians; just 23 percent side with Israel.

  • The next generation to run America already opposes Israel.

Israel’s economy can absorb the loss of $4 billion. What it can’t easily replace is American weaponry and joint missile-defense systems.

  • Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been urging Israel toward military self-reliance for exactly this reason. If aid can be cut for political reasons, so can arms sales.

America’s turn against Israel has enormous prophetic implications.

  • Zechariah 11:14 prophesies that in the end time, God will “break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.” Prophetically, Judah refers to the Jewish state, and Israel primarily to America and Britain.
  • Regarding this prophecy, Trumpet publisher Gerald Flurry wrote back in 2004 that it could foretell a rift between America and the Jewish state that will leave Israel isolated and vulnerable.
  • Zechariah 14:2 forecasts that East Jerusalem will fall to radical Islamists in the end time. Noting this, Mr. Flurry wrote, “If the brotherhood between superpower America and the Jewish state is broken, that is probably when half of Jerusalem would be taken.” Our booklet Jerusalem in Prophecy explains this shocking event.

Beyond this, Hosea 5:5 prophesies that America, Britain and the Jewish state will all fall together: “therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.” So—as America turns against Judah, we hasten our own fall.

Americans Vote for Abortion

During Tuesday’s elections, Americans in three states voted to make abortion easier.

In Virginia, nearly two thirds of voters approved the Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment.

  • It protects women and doctors from any legal punishment for aborting babies, even in the third trimester—something illegal in many countries because a baby can survive outside the womb at that point. This will now be allowed if a doctor deems the mother’s “mental health” is at stake, a notoriously low bar, or any abortion where a physician judges the baby will not survive.
  • The amendment grants this right to “every individual” without distinction for age. It permits restrictions only “for the limited purpose of maintaining or improving the health” of the patient, and only if they do not “infringe on that individual’s autonomous decision-making.” Opponents argue that this standard will strike down parental-consent and informed-consent laws.

Nevada requires voters to approve constitutional amendments twice before they are enforced. Voters first approved an abortion amendment in 2024, and nearly two thirds did so this week. Now, the Nevada constitution will state:

All individuals shall have a fundamental right to abortion performed or administered by a qualified health-care practitioner until fetal viability, or when needed to protect the life or health of the pregnant patient, without interference from the state or its political subdivisions.

  • Note: They can’t even bring themselves to say “pregnant woman.”
  • In 1990, Nevada voters affirmed a 1973 abortion law that allowed for killing a child in the womb up until he or she was 24 weeks old. Yet Nevadans still thought it was worth the effort to enshrine it in the state constitution in 2026.

Missouri narrowly approved a constitutional amendment in 2024 that establishes a right to “reproductive freedom.” This week, a ballot measure to repeal that amendment was defeated, 55.5 percent to 44.5 percent.

Idaho was the one exception, rejecting a proposition to give “every person” the “right to reproductive freedom and privacy,” 56 percent to 44 percent.

Abortion is murder. That fact is decided not by popular vote but by the one and only Giver of life, Almighty God. Americans’ rejection of the true God includes not only leaders but also voters protecting killers and killing babies by the millions. Russia Keeps Boosting Iran’s Military

Russia deepened its cooperation with Iran by approving a deal to supply the nation with 90 advanced helicopter-launched guided missile systems, the Financial Times reported today. The paper said the order stipulated that Russian manufacturer Vympel would supply the systems to “K-10,” a Russian code name for Iran, from 2024 to 2025.

  • Traveling at 755 feet per second, the missiles are considerably faster than drones and can strike targets much quicker.
  • The weapons support a “shoot-and-scoot” approach, allowing helicopter crews to fire from a position and quickly withdraw before enemy forces can respond.
  • Russia deploys these systems aboard its Mi-28 attack helicopters, dozens of which it has also sold to Iran.

Aiding Iran’s war effort: Though this agreement predates the U.S.-Iran war, it takes on added significance in light of the military and intelligence support Russia has provided Iran during the conflict. That support has taken several forms:

  • Targeting intelligence: Russia has shared information on the locations of American warships, aircraft and military installations in the Middle East, helping Iran identify high-value targets.
  • Satellite surveillance: Russian satellites have photographed U.S. and allied military bases, air-defense installations and other strategic sites across the region and shared that imagery with Iran.
  • Cyberwarfare: Russian and Iranian hacking groups have reportedly coordinated cyberoperations targeting critical U.S. infrastructure and telecommunications networks in the Middle East.
  • Drone technology: Russia has supplied advanced fiber-optic drone components and technology to improve Iran’s ability to conduct drone attacks.
  • Weapons training: Russia has continued its preexisting military training of Iranian forces, including fighter aircraft and pilot training, according to the Middle East Institute.

These agreements demonstrate that even while devoting enormous resources to its own war, Russia continues to find ways to make the Iranian military deadlier against the United States and its interests.

“It is indicative of Russia’s willingness to continue supplying Iran despite its own wartime demands and with far less concern about Western objections than in the past.”
—Nicole Grajewski, nonresident scholar at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

U.S. President Donald Trump has vowed “tremendous” consequences for countries that continue trading with Iran during the war. Yet Russia is going considerably further, supplying Iranian forces with intelligence, training and weapons to use against Americans.

Will Russia’s continued support for Iran make it harder for Trump to keep giving Vladimir Putin, whom he has treated with unusual deference, yet another pass? Regardless of how the president and the U.S. respond, Russia’s bold and lethal actions involving Iran further reveal the deadly character of the prophesied “prince of Russia.
