Saudi Arabia Asks for German Military Support

Bible prophecy reveals it will get it.

Saudi Arabia is planning a new military offensive against the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia in Yemen and is asking for Germany’s support. In an interview with Germany’s Spiegel, published October 2, Turki bin Faisal al-Saud, former head of Saudi Arabia’s intelligence service and member of Saudi Arabia’s ruling family, said, “Those who benefit from the region’s natural resources should work to promote peace and security.”

Spiegel spoke with Turki on the sidelines of the German-Arab Gulf Dialogue on Security and Cooperation conference that took place on September 21–22. The website reads:

The security order of the Gulf region stands at a historic breaking point. Power relations, alliances, energy flows and trade routes are shifting. Europe is directly affected in geostrategic and geoeconomic terms and must adapt its partnership with the gcc [Gulf Cooperation Council] states to this new environment.

The partnership is prophesied to change from a largely trade alliance to a military alliance. The basis of this change is growing fear of Iran and hostility toward the United States.

Turki told Spiegel:

Israel and the U.S. decided on this war on their own. Germany has expressed its opposition. France, a cornerstone of the American security architecture, was not consulted either. And this is not the first time America has ignored our advice. … Today, we see how the threat to the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb affects everyone—not just Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has previously proposed a military security and surveillance system for the Arabian Peninsula and the Bab el-Mandeb strait. “No European country wanted to participate,” Turki said. “Yet Europe would have benefited enormously from securing the strait: Ships could sail unhindered to the Suez Canal and on to Europe. Europe should have gotten involved.”

A meeting between the gcc and the European Union is scheduled for October 24. “We intend to sign a trade agreement between Europe and the gcc there—one that has been under discussion for 30 years,” Turki explained. “This could mark the beginning of a partnership that should be followed by cooperation on security issues.”

Crises are moving the two closer together. After Germany simplified arms export licenses to the Gulf states in March, German Economics Minister Katherina Reiche said:

Iran’s indiscriminate attacks on the Gulf states have resulted in an urgent need for military equipment, particularly for air defense.

With the new, temporary license, we are adapting our arms export control procedures for the export of urgently needed arms to these countries to meet these new requirements.

Saudi Arabia has been a recipient of German weaponry for years. Even during the arms embargo following the murder of journalist Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi in 2018, German expertise helped Saudi Arabia build its own military-industrial complex. Andreas Schwer, former board member in the armaments division of the Düsseldorf Rheinmetall Group, served as ceo of Saudi Arabian Military Industries from 2017 to 2020.

Saudi Arabia is pushing for an even stronger military alliance.

In his booklet The King of the South, Gerald Flurry has forecast the formation of this alliance based on prophecies in Daniel 11 and Psalm 83.

Daniel 11:40 reads: “And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.”

This verse refers to a German-led European military force, the king of the north, overthrowing Iran, the king of the south. The following verses reveal who will be allied with Iran, and Psalm 83 shows who will be allied with Germany.

But as Mr. Flurry’s article “The Hidden Danger in Germany’s ‘Alliance Against Iran’” shows, the ultimate target of the alliance between Saudi Arabia and Germany will not be Iran.

Psalm 83:4 reveals: “They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.”

Among the modern descendants of Israel today are the U.S., Great Britain and the Jewish nation in the Middle East, called Israel today. While they may recognize that Germany and Saudi Arabia are allying against Iran, they don’t recognize the danger this poses. Only Bible prophecy can reveal the outcome of world events. That’s because the Author of these prophecies wants to get our attention. Read “The Hidden Danger in Germany’s ‘Alliance Against Iran’” to learn why.
