Iran strikes oil tanker

Iran struck an oil tanker the night of August 24 to 25 as it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz near the Omani coastline. The crew is reportedly safe. The United States previously promised to protect merchant shipping in the strait, yet it apparently has not yet responded or retaliated.
