China terminates flights to Japan
Chinese airlines canceled all flights on 49 routes to Japan on January 26, the latest sign of deteriorating relations between the two Asian nations. In November, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said her nation may militarily intervene if China tries to seize Taiwan. Chinese leaders responded with threats, export controls, travel warnings to Chinese citizens and even a demand last week for Japan to return its last giant pandas. This week’s cancellation of flights brings China-Japan relations to their lowest point in years. However, the Trumpet expects these two powers to lay aside their differences and join forces in an alliance biblical prophecy terms “the kings of the east.”
