German National Security Council meets

Germany’s new National Security Council held its first meeting on Wednesday. A spokesman said that it addressed hybrid threats and adopted an interdepartmental action plan involving counterintelligence and security for critical infrastructure. He said the council also discussed Germany’s dependencies on certain imports and deliberated how to “diversify and strengthen the resilience of raw material supplies.” The council, which is designed to develop strategies for threatening situations, meets in secret and is one of many signs that Germany is preparing for war.
