‘Join a Bible-Believing Church’
The assassination of Charlie Kirk inspired many, many people to go to church this past Sunday for the first time in a long time, or ever, causing attendance to meet or exceed that of Christmas and Easter services.
Religious leaders are excited about the surge, though history suggests it will be short-lived. After 9/11, church turnout rose 10 to 15 percent for a few weeks but reverted to pre-9/11 levels within two months.

Still, evidence is strong that a great many Americans are waking up to the spiritual war taking place in the country, a battle between good and evil. References and full articles on the subject have appeared in several normally secular news sources, condemning the evil influence on society of the devil and demons, enjoining people to recognize and confront the enemy. Read, for example, this piece in the American Spectator, “The Age of Spiritual Warfare Is Here. Will You Rise or Fall?”
The right must wake up to the scale of the threat. We are not facing policy disagreements. We are facing an existential struggle between heaven and hell, light and darkness, facts and fiction. Until that is recognized, we will remain disorganized and divided while our enemies grow bold.
“Join a Bible-believing church”: In her stirring speech this past Friday, Charlie Kirk’s widow encouraged viewers: “Most important of all, if you aren’t a member of a church, I beg you to join one, a Bible-believing church.” The qualifier at the end is crucial, because there is an awful lot of religion that doesn’t come from the Bible, but from human tradition, and is thus ill-equipped for “the existential struggle between light and darkness.”
Charlie Kirk had sincere respect for the Bible and strove to follow its commands more than any other mainstream commentator I can think of.
- He was big on family, encouraging people to “marry young, have children, and prioritize family”—consistent with one of the Bible’s highest priorities.
- He even accepted biblical instruction on family government, including unpopular admonitions for wives to voluntarily submit themselves to their husbands.
- He observed a Friday-sunset-to-Saturday-sunset day of rest.
- He believed biblical commands against homosexuality and transgenderism.
- He provided scriptural justification for his rejection of “woke” Christianity and his active engagement in America’s culture war.
Those who view Kirk’s death as a prod for spiritual revival should use the Bible as their guide. It warns repeatedly about false Christianity. The Apostle Paul spoke of “false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:13).
The Bible is clear that people should regularly attend church services. But knowing which church will actually equip you spiritually requires some biblical understanding and discernment.

Britain is rolling out the reddest of carpets for President Trump today. He is the first elected leader ever to be invited for a second state visit. And the flattering treatment he is receiving shows just how desperate Britain’s left-wing government is for his favor, despite its disagreements with him.
- Last night, Trump became the first president since Ronald Reagan to stay the night at Windsor Castle, the biggest and oldest inhabited castle in the world.
- Today, he’ll receive the biggest military welcoming ceremony for a state visit in living memory, with parades, salutes, a flyby and a banquet.
When Gerald Flurry first wrote about Donald Trump fulfilling a type of the biblical Jeroboam about eight years ago, he described Britain following him too. Hosea 5:9-11 say that the tribe of Ephraim, which corresponds to modern Britain, “willingly walked after the commandment” of Jeroboam.
- “People in Britain … are going to be led astray by Jeroboam,” he wrote. “They are going to be led more deeply into sin. Now that the United Kingdom has decided to break away from Europe, it will be more desperate to trade with the U.S. This will probably result in it following Jeroboam’s lead into disaster.”
- “We need a leader who will cause our people to embrace the living God—not a puny helpless man!” Mr. Flurry warned in that article. “This modern-day Jeroboam fights for many good causes. But in the process, he gets people to look to him as the solution—not the omnipotent, all-powerful God! This is the great deception and the great sin.”
If President Trump follows in the footsteps of his ancient type, the Bible says Britain will follow too. We see Britain “desperate to trade with the U.S.,” exactly as Mr. Flurry wrote. We may see a government in Britain more ideologically aligned with Trump at some point. But even without that, this prophecy in Hosea 5 is being fulfilled before our eyes.

India joined Russia’s war exercises, increasing tensions with the U.S. The extensive “Zapad 2025” drills, which concluded yesterday, involved 30,000 Russian and Belarussian soldiers, and India contributed 65 personnel to “further strengthen defense cooperation and foster camaraderie between India and Russia, thereby reinforcing the spirit of collaboration and mutual trust,” according to the Indian government. This is the first time India has joined Russian forces since the latter invaded Ukraine in 2022. It comes less than two weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, and about a month after the Trump administration levied 50 percent tariffs on Indian goods. This small deployment is leading to the creation of an Asian power bloc the Bible refers to as the kings of the east.
Chinese and Philippine ships scuffled near Scarborough Shoal yesterday. The Chinese claimed that 10 Philippine ships entered contested waters, with one ramming a Chinese Coast Guard vessel and getting hit by a strong water cannon. The Philippines said that one crewman was injured. The incident comes less than a week after China announced a plan to turn the shoal into a national nature reserve to further assert and consolidate its sovereignty over this strategically and economically valuable region. Based on Bible prophecy, China’s aggression in this area is no surprise.
Russia is forcing captured Ukrainian children to make its weapons, according to a Yale study. Not only has Vladimir Putin led the kidnapping of tens of thousands of Ukrainian children, but he has brainwashed them, put them to forced labor, and made them assist his effort to kill and kidnap more Ukrainians. This is yet another example of Putin’s wickedness, which is spoken of in biblical prophecy.
Dearborn mayor tells a Christian he’s not welcome: Dearborn, Michigan, population 110,000, became the first Arab-majority city in the United States two years ago and is a center for radical Islam. The city recently approved new street signs to honor Arab news publisher and activist Osama Siblani. Dearborn resident Ted Barham, who said he is a Christian, attended a Dearborn City Council meeting and protested the signs, stating that Siblani is “a promoter of Hezbollah and Hamas” who says that “the blood of the martyrs irrigates the land of Palestine … whether we are in Michigan and whether we are in Yemen. Believe me, everyone should fight within his means. They will fight with stones, others will fight with guns, others fight with planes, drones and rockets.” Rather than listen to Barham, Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud told him that he is not welcome in Dearborn and that when he left, the city would celebrate with a parade. Dearborn has become another city filled with Islamic extremism right in the American heartland.
