Germany Is Arming for World War III
“Germany Plots the Future of Warfare,” Reuters headlined on July 23. This article said Germany “plans to nearly triple its regular defense budget to around €162 billion (us$175 billion) per year by 2029. Much of that money will go into reinventing the nature of warfare, the sources said” (emphasis mine).
Those with a basic understanding of German military history should be frightened by such statements!
Germany is indeed “reinventing the nature of warfare.” And Bible prophecy reveals it will suddenly start World War iii!
Revelation 17 prophesies of the rise of a military alliance of 10 kings leading 10 nations or groups of nations in Europe. This alliance will be dominated and led by Germany, biblical Assyria. Assyria had a history of starting many wars, over and over again. Isaiah 10 shows that it will soon start another war, the most destructive in history! It says God will allow this—because He is going to use the modern-day Assyrians to punish the modern descendants of biblical Israel. Read that prophecy in Isaiah 10:5-7: “O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.” This is a prophecy that Germany will destroy many nations!
Right now, we are witnessing Germany begin its final preparations to start this war!
From Industrial to Military Might
Germany is the world’s third-largest economy. In May, it overtook Japan as the largest creditor nation in the world. That means German businesses and individuals invest more in foreign companies, factories and other projects abroad, and loan more money to foreign governments and businesses, than any other nation in the world. That shows the reach of the German industrial power. That is quite an accomplishment.
The German government, however, is now starting to invest beyond its means. Its 2026 federal budget is €520.5 billion ($600.3 billion). This budget, because of rising defense costs and investment needs, relies heavily on new debt. German leaders are determined to build up their military even if it means running deficits to do it.
German businesses have also announced a new initiative to invest us$733 billion in their nation. They recognize that now is the time to build up Germany and bring foreign investments home.
Germany’s great industrial power is being rapidly transformed for military purposes. Germany is already Europe’s largest military spender, but it is only at the beginning of a frightening military transformation.
Reuters wrote, “Weakness in Germany’s automotive industry means there is production capacity to spare ….” This article cites Stefan Thumann, ceo of Bavarian start-up Donaustahl, which produces kamikaze drones, saying that his company receives three to five applications every day from workers at automotive companies.
This trend is being encouraged by the government. Economics Minister Katherina Reiche hopes “that the German arms boom could give the economy a significant boost,” Germany’s Welt wrote on July 28. This summer, Reiche toured the country visiting the defense industry, which she claimed, “has long been underestimated and neglected.”
The reason this industry has been neglected is that it was used to start two world wars!
We are seeing a remarkable shift: Germany’s industrial powerhouse is becoming a military powerhouse. But the nation is not investing as much in old military technology as it is in “the future of warfare.”
Rising Military Start-ups
Among Germany’s start-ups, the company that received the most funds in 2024 was military drone manufacturer Helsing, which specializes in artificial intelligence for the defense industry. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Helsing has risen to become Europe’s most valuable defense start-up. It has developed powerful strike drones (HX-2) that can fly in swarms controlled by a single human operator.
“Helsing may contribute to a frightening advance in modern warfare,” we wrote. “Unsatisfied with conquering the sky, one of the company’s latest innovations deploys AI-driven drone swarms into the depths beneath the water” (“Munich’s Rise as Europe’s Start-up Capital,” theTrumpet.com/31694).
Drones have already changed warfare in recent years. But drone swarms guided by AI are likely to revolutionize warfare in a monumental way.
Of course, nations are also racing to create countermeasures against these new technologies. But don’t expect these defenses to thwart all attacks. Vulnerabilities to drone attacks are everywhere.
What Drones Might Do
“Armed, fully autonomous drone swarms are future weapons of mass destruction,” the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists wrote in 2021. “While they are unlikely to achieve the scale of harm as the Tsar Bomba, the famous Soviet hydrogen bomb, or most other major nuclear weapons, swarms could cause the same level of destruction, death and injury as the nuclear weapons used in Nagasaki and Hiroshima—that is tens of thousands of deaths.”
A nuclear weapon dropped on a populated city causes instant mass death and destruction. Drone swarms could also cause mass casualties and potentially even strategically greater destruction in a wider operational area.
The kind of attack that would have taken several prohibitively expensive fighter jets, missiles and submarines in the past can now be accomplished by cheaply manufactured drones.
This is a frightening development in warfare! Those drone swarms could also be used to neutralize another nation’s ability to use nuclear weapons. This would effectively end the “mutually assured destruction” that has helped prevent a world war. We got a small taste of that in Ukraine’s June 1 drone strike on Russia’s strategic nuclear bombers. However, in that attack the drones were few in number and largely guided by human operators.
“Drone swarms are potentially more destructive than nuclear bombs, and even harder to defend against” (theTrumpet.com, op cit). They are harder to defend against because of the rapid pace of technological advancement and the overwhelming number of drones that can be used in an attack. Imagine what advanced drone swarms guided by AI could do if they penetrated a nation’s defenses.
Imagine too their destructive power if coupled with simultaneous cyberattacks. In a July 30 podcast, former German Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg noted, “Today, with artificial intelligence, you can paralyze entire systems with cyberwarfare, and you can do it much more quickly.”
The rapid development in AI in both these areas could lead to the sudden overthrow of major superpowers.
Couple that with nuclear warfare, and you have an absolute horror scenario!
Germany’s expertise in these new technologies is bringing potentially revolutionary change to the battlefield! This is a monumental shift in warfare! But it’s not going to bring peace. It’s going to bring war.
Connecting Old With New
The former defense minister and multimillionaire Baron zu Guttenberg is following in the footsteps of Bavarian leaders Edmund Stoiber and Franz Josef Strauss, who harnessed high-tech industry. Strauss and Stoiber helped make Bavaria the high-tech economic powerhouse it is today. What if Guttenberg enhances this industrial power with artificial intelligence? He may very well be working on this already.
Guttenberg has played a key role in helping European start-ups expand internationally. What Strauss and Stoiber started, Guttenberg continues. He has his mind very much on technology, AI and modern warfare. He has made himself an expert in this field, an emerging power that few others understand. He probably knows all this technology as well as just about anyone on Earth.
If Guttenberg were to gain power again, consider what he would do with all his understanding about AI. He could well empower Germany to lead the world in that field!
“Artificial intelligence is still something Europe could shape,” he noted in a 2019 television interview with Puls 4-Talk. “We have a well-established industry, which still has to become far more connected to the new technologies. But once this happens, it will develop a totally different field of power than a purely technological or digitalization firm.”
Germany’s new government is now doing exactly that in the military sector. The German government “views AI and start-up technology as key to its defense plans and is slashing bureaucracy to connect start-ups directly to the upper echelons of its military,” Reuters wrote on July 23.
When the old industry as established by Strauss, Stoiber and others connects with the new, a “different field of power” emerges—something much more powerful and frightening!
Does this world really need more weapons of mass destruction? Where is the peace in this world? Everybody is talking about peace—but thinking about war! That shows the terrible flaw in human nature!
AI, Munich and Guttenberg
“Bavaria’s founders are active in trending industries such as defense and artificial intelligence,” Bild wrote on July 19. According to the consulting firm EY, nearly half of all German venture capital flowed into Bavaria in the first six months of this year—a total of €4.6 billion, about a 33 percent jump from the first half of last year.
Guttenberg knows how vital energy is for Germany to be able to advance its AI capabilities. “Artificial intelligence also means that you need incredibly high computer performance, [and] for the incredibly high computer performance you need an enormous amount of energy,” he said in his July 29 podcast.
Where could all that energy come from? In public addresses, Guttenberg has expressed hope in a breakthrough in fusion. Such a breakthrough could be a game changer.
What is this about? Fusion is producing energy in a way the sun does. That is phenomenal power! “In just two seconds, the sun releases enough energy to meet humanity’s current global needs for a million years. The prospect of replicating even a fraction of that power on Earth carries world-changing potential” (theTrumpet.com, op cit).
That is what they are working toward. Bavaria has become a hub for private fusion enterprises in Europe. On June 11, it was reported that Proxima Fusion, one of three prominent fusion start-ups in the Bavarian capital of Munich, successfully raised the highest amount of private funding for a fusion energy project in Europe to date.
If you think about all the advances this could bring, and the ramifications, you quickly see that this is really out of man’s control! Men are trying to become more powerful all the time, but they will not be able to control all that power!
Note what Guttenberg stated in his podcast: “No one understands artificial intelligence anymore, point one. Point two, we are already reaching a stage where artificial intelligence is taking over parts of the control of its own use, where humans no longer play a role. When this rises to a level that is also superior to the mental powers of humans at some point, then there are horror scenarios that are being put forward by some, where they say, Dear friends, if we don’t take appropriate action now, we are on a development path that could blow up in our faces with full force.”
Imagine knowing this danger and still investing billions of dollars into it. Then imagine combining it with weaponry that can cause millions of people to die! This is what people are doing right now!
The world has all kind of fantasies of what it can do with technological advances. But the truth is, this is leading our world into the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord!
I don’t think it is coincidence that the man the Trumpet has been watching to lead the rising European superpower invests heavily in start-ups and is a resident of Munich. Before becoming an investor in start-ups, Guttenberg served as defense minister. Now Bavaria is becoming a hub for start-ups, especially military start-ups.
Due to the tech and AI booms, Bavaria is leading these developments in Germany, and Germany may be taking the world beyond what can even be understood!
You need to watch Germany and watch it lead Europe. Germany is prophesied to usher that continent and our world into a nuclear World War iii!
We must clearly see what our future will be if God doesn’t save us—and prophecy says He will only do so after man brings about a lot of destruction! God is going to stop it. But we will suffer terribly before then if we don’t wake up and listen to God today!
If you turn to God now, He will make sure you don’t have to go through all that suffering. He has a place of protection for His people during the Tribulation and the Day of the Lord (Revelation 12:14).
Rising From the Underground
In August 1944, toward the end of World War ii, representatives of massive German companies like Krupp, Messerschmidt, Volkswagenwerk and Rheinmetall met with senior Nazis at the so-called Red House Meeting. A U.S. intelligence document, declassified in 1996, says these business leaders were told they must prepare to finance the Nazi Party, which was about to be forced to go underground. They instructed those industrialists to place existing financial reserves in foreign countries “at the disposal of the party so that a strong German empire can be created after the defeat.”
This is what these leaders were saying after millions of people had been killed and as German cities lay in ashes! They were ready to build up that beastly military juggernaut again!
In 1944, they were already planning for the next round. They went underground and began to build another empire to start another war!
Germany’s status as the world’s largest creditor nation shows that this plan was carried out. Today, the sons and grandsons of those industrialists are rising up out of the underground. Everybody can see them. And they are about to start World War iii! They are going to do it again!
Watch Germany! You need to realize what is about to happen. They are talking about peace, but they are about to start a war like this world has never seen! Many biblical prophecies tell you this.
Revelation 18 is one of those passages you ought to read. It refers to modern Europe as Babylon. Look also at Jeremiah 1:13-15, which describe a “seething pot” that is boiling over in Germany, about to spill out and cause terrible destruction.
Another prophecy in Daniel 8:23 reads, “And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.” Most Bible commentaries agree that this “king of fierce countenance” refers to Antiochus iv Epiphanes of the Seleucid Empire in the second century b.c. But that was nearly 2,200 years ago! The book of Daniel is only for the “time of the end” (Daniel 12:4, 9). The ancient Antiochus did terrible damage, but he was only a prophetic forerunner of men —one in particular—who would fulfill this prophecy in the end time.
Germany is far more powerful than any other European power—and probably already greater than Russia. And prophecy says it is going to be hijacked by this strongman, this fierce king! He is going to get control of it—and several prophecies show that he is going to be controlled by a very evil spiritual power, the devil himself!
For years I have thought Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg would probably fulfill this role of the strongman of Europe. We will see—very soon.
The ancient Antiochus had an intense interest in technology. So does the modern Antiochus. And Guttenberg is exceptional in modern technology.
The expression “dark sentences” comes from the word haidah, which means riddle, difficult, question (Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament). I believe this expression could refer to difficult, highly complex technology. Gesenius’ Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon defines “dark sentences” as “twisted, involved, … subtlety, fraud, … enigma.” Those words perfectly describe the enigmatic technology of AI!
The world today is continually making advances in armaments. It is frightening to witness—yet it is going to usher in the return of Jesus Christ! Thank God for that!
This is prophesied in the very next verses of Daniel 8. Verse 24 begins, “And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power”—in other words, he is empowered by Satan the devil, who is the god of this world and has deceived the whole world (2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 12:9).
Daniel 8:24 continues, “[A]nd he [the Satan-inspired strongman] shall destroy wonderfully [or mightily], and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.” The lukewarm people of God are going to be destroyed because they have forsaken God! They are lukewarm because they are not close to God, and they will face terrifying punishment because of that.
But look at the hope in verse 25: “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand [a lot of deceit]; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes [Jesus Christ]; but he shall be broken without hand.” Christ Himself is going to come and destroy this seventh and last resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire!
