The Jewish Nation Has No Helper

Democracy is under attack in the Jewish nation of Israel. There is a great controversy over Israel’s government, and it is close to a breaking point!

The Supreme Court of Israel has amassed more and more control over the nation. When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took steps to reduce that power, more than 150,000 Israelis staged mass protests against him.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said Israel was “on the brink of constitutional and societal collapse.” Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak said Netanyahu is pushing for “de facto dictatorship.” He and other leaders actually urged Israelis to refuse to obey the government.

They are accusing Netanyahu of trying to overthrow Israel’s democracy. That is a lie! He is trying to restore democracy. In large part due to its Supreme Court, Israel’s democracy has already been overthrown.

Rule of Lawyers

Over the past few decades, the lawyers appointed to the Supreme Court of Israel have massively expanded the court’s power over the elected representatives of the Israeli people. They have taken to themselves the authority to review and to nullify any Israeli law, no matter how many representatives or voters disagree.

“Israel has no written constitution. Instead, its Supreme Court is a law unto itself,” Jerome Marcus wrote for the Jewish News Syndicate (February 24). The nation’s Basic Law, he said, is the closest thing it has to a constitution, and even it can be overruled by Supreme Court judges. “In Israel, you see, the constitution can be unconstitutional if the justices say so because they think it’s unreasonable” (ibid).

The government of Israel largely depends on what these 15 judges declare to be “reasonable.” In many cases, their will can overrule everything!

“People say there’s no longer any point in voting,” author Melanie Phillips wrote, “since the judges run the country” (March 23).

Respected American judge Robert Bork wrote in his book Coercing Values: The Worldwide Rule of Judges, “Israel has set a standard for judicial imperialism that can probably never be surpassed and, one devoutly hopes, will never be equaled elsewhere. The sad irony is that the Supreme Court, operating with a basic law that specifies Israel’s values are both Jewish and democratic, is gradually producing an Israel that is neither Jewish nor democratic.”

The types of lawyers, judges and justices who have produced this power-hungry body over the past few decades are also the types of people making judgments that are more and more leftist and more and more radical.

Despite the fact that other lawyers have spent 15 years looking for a way to convict and lock him up, Netanyahu managed to win Israel’s latest election at the end of last year. These lawyers and judges think they know better than Israeli voters, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to block him and his policies.

Voters returned Netanyahu to the office of prime minister (for the third time in his career) partially because he promised to confront this deep, anti-democratic problem in Israel’s government. When he acted on that promise and introduced a new law to make the court more subject to the legislature, the media and influential left-wing politicians stirred many Israelis into a frenzy.

Those favoring judicial reform may have won the election, but the leftists have a mob that is winning this fight. After three months of political fighting, then street protests, then strikes and shut downs, it got so bad in late March that some military reservists on both sides of the issue refused to report for duty or to obey orders, threatening the country’s already fragile security. Netanyahu relented and promised to delay his plan for judicial reform.

When people openly disobey the law and even the military will no longer defend the country, the nation is in real danger. It seems to me that civil war is looming. A few men believe they have the right to make decisions for the whole country and that no elected leaders can stop them. Democracy has been lost in Judah, just as it is being lost in America.

What many people do not realize is the key role that one man, thousands of miles away, has played in this overthrow.

Enter Obama

Barack Obama has been an unrelenting enemy of Israel and especially of Benjamin Netanyahu. When Obama won the United States presidency in 2008, he immediately introduced radical changes to American policy in the Middle East, showing more favor to certain Muslim nations and repeatedly weakening Israel—even though it is the only real democracy in the entire region, it shares the same fundamental values as America, and it has been a long-time ally.

Obama opposed Netanyahu and Israel over a range of issues: Israeli settlements, Palestinian statehood, the United Nations, Egypt and the Arab Spring, leaks about Israel’s military and nuclear arsenal, its ability to strike Iran’s nuclear program. When he traveled to the Middle East, he omitted Israel from his itinerary and gave a landmark pro-Arab speech in Egypt instead. He treated Netanyahu disrespectfully again and again, and his people even compared Netanyahu’s administration to the Nazi regime.

Obama aggressively pursued a Middle East foreign policy that shocked the world. He reversed U.S. policy to benefit the most dangerous terrorist-sponsoring nation on Earth, Iran. Iranians call Israel “the little Satan” and America “the great Satan”—yet Obama intervened to save Iran’s radical regime. He reduced sanctions, strengthened Iran against its neighbors, provided it with international legitimacy and huge sums of money, and gave it a path to nuclear weapons!

This is the nation that has repeatedly threatened to wipe the Jewish nation of Israel “off the map”!

Netanyahu spoke out in opposition to Obama’s transformation of the Middle East, especially the nuclear deal with Iran that threatens Israel’s very existence.

In the last Israeli election before Obama left office, he used his State Department to try to oust Netanyahu. The U.S. State Department is known to have spent nearly $350,000 funding a campaign group that called on voters to support “anyone but Bibi” in the 2015 elections. A key leader in Obama’s two election campaigns, Jeremy Bird, flew out to Israel to advise the group.

That effort failed, and when Obama left office in January 2017, Netanyahu was still prime minister. Obama’s ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, took the unusual step of staying in the country. He tried to prevent a close relationship from developing between Netanyahu and the new president, Donald Trump.

Though Netanyahu survived these attacks, after Obama left office Israel descended into political gridlock. In 2019, an enfeebled Netanyahu lost his majority government, and since that time, Israel has stumbled through five elections in just over four years. It is impossible to know how much Obama and his followers were involved in weakening and ousting Netanyahu and otherwise interfering in Israel’s democracy during the time that President Trump was in the White House. But in 2020, Obama regained power by interfering in America’s elections and installing a usurper president, Joe Biden.

Biden was kept away from the public for much of the campaign, and when he was installed as president, many of the top offices were awarded not to Biden’s people but to Obama’s people. Biden’s mental and physical incapacity have become increasingly obvious, as have the corruption and crimes that he and his family have been involved in. Slowly, some people have begun to realize that not only did he come to the presidency illegitimately but also that he is not the one in control of American policy, domestic or foreign. Much of it was controlled by one of Obama’s operatives, Susan Rice.

Obama’s opposition to Israel can be seen in Biden’s foreign policy. The U.S. ambassador, Tom Nides, has involved himself in the fight for the Supreme Court of Israel. He boldly said on February 28, “I really think that most Israelis do not want America to stay out of their business.”

He also indirectly threatened Netanyahu, saying that America’s support is based on “democracy” and “shared values,” including its backing “at places like the United Nations.” The implication was clear. If Israel tried to return power from the Supreme Court back to the people and their representatives, America would punish Israel at the hostile UN. One month later, the U.S. allowed the UN Security Council to pass an official condemnation of Israel for expanding its settlements.

One of Obama’s final acts as president in 2017 was to allow the UN to pass a resolution condemning Israel. It had been nearly 40 years since the U.S. had allowed such a resolution to pass. The UN is notoriously hostile to the Jewish state. If America won’t defend the Jews, then they are in real trouble!

The U.S. State Department funded one of the key protest organizers in March, the far-left Movement for Quality Government. Though it was a relatively small amount, the donation signaled to other donors that this group had Obama and the deep state’s full support. Biden’s officials, who were really installed by Obama, regularly meet with members of the Israeli and Palestinian civil societies when they visit Israel. They are the real power behind the protests!

Other funding for the protests has come from the same people who helped fund the 2020 election steal in America. One major source has been the New Israel Fund, which traces back to the Open Society Foundations, which trace back to radical socialist billionaire George Soros.

Joe Biden personally called Netanyahu to express “concern” about the reforms he was proposing. Not long after, Netanyahu relented and said he would pause but not give up the effort. Biden insisted that he “walk away” and abandon the idea completely. “They cannot continue down this road,” he said. Melanie Phillips said Biden “sounded like a colonial administrator barking at the natives to fall into line.” Biden has also refused to meet with Netanyahu as would be typical with an Israeli prime minister.

Facing this pressure from America, Netanyahu has been unable to enact the reforms he was elected to pursue. But what Biden and Obama really want is to drive him from office and out of power completely.

Israeli ‘Arab Spring’?

Journalist Lee Smith wrote that Netanyahu, who is also known by his nickname Bibi, “is in Washington’s crosshairs, for regime change has come to Israel.” Smith has written powerful insights into the regime changes Obama orchestrated in Egypt and the United States.

For decades, Egypt was a strong ally of the United States. It also had good relations with Israel for more than 30 years. Meanwhile, Iran was becoming a more and more dangerous threat: pursuing a policy of Islamic terrorism, threatening oil shipments, and pursuing nuclear weapons. The U.S., Egypt, Israel and other nations all wanted to contain that threat.

The U.S. and Israel had been relying on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to help keep the Middle East from deteriorating. But Obama wanted—in the words of his top spy, John Brennan—to make Mubarak “toast.” In 2011, Egyptians were protesting against Mubarak’s regime, agitating for a better government. Mubarak sought to hold onto power. But then Barack Obama called him. After that conversation, Mubarak decided to give up.

Social media proved to be decisive during the protests in Egypt and in several other Middle Eastern countries. This was another weapon that Obama used to have his way.

“The Obama administration first created the public-private partnership with Twitter and Facebook to support the ‘Arab Spring’ uprising,” Mark Bradman, who goes by the name Sundance, posted to the blog Conservative Treehouse on Dec. 20, 2022.

“Being capable of sharing an immense amount of uncensored and accurate information throughout social networking sites has contributed to the cause of many Arab Spring activists,” Saleem Kassim wrote for Mic on July 3, 2012. “Through social networking sites, Arab Spring activists have not only gained the power to overthrow powerful dictatorships, but also helped Arab civilians become aware of the underground communities that exist and are made up of their brothers and others willing to listen to their stories.” He described how protests were organized and crowds mobilized through these tools, and he quoted one Egyptian activist saying, “We use Facebook to schedule the protests, Twitter to coordinate, and YouTube to tell the world.”

Groups backed by the Obama administration also worked quietly in the background, organizing and supporting protests. “As a consequence, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was the first elected official to be taken out by former President Obama’s deployment of Twitter as a community activist tool for revolution in 2011,” Bradman wrote (op cit).

What was Obama’s goal? He was clearing a key U.S. ally out of the way so the unrest in Egypt could sweep the socialist, terrorist Muslim Brotherhood into power. That is exactly what happened. Assisted by several militant factions like al Qaeda, and by the king of terrorism, Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood installed itself as the new regime.

What is truly amazing, however, is that this plan the Obama administration carried out in Egypt foreshadowed a much bigger scheme. “In direct and consequential ways,” Bradman concluded, “Egypt was the beta test for a process that surfaced a decade later in the United States during the 2020 election.” That is a powerful statement. What they did in Egypt, they later did in America!

And now they are doing it in Israel!

“The anti-Bibi coup looks and feels like the anti-Trump operation because it’s run by the same people—the Obama operatives who hunted Trump and now run the Biden White House,” wrote Lee Smith. “It was Obama’s spy chiefs who fabricated Russiagate, the politically funded smear campaign designed to destabilize the Trump presidency. And it’s Obama’s State Department that created the machinery to take down Netanyahu nearly a decade ago by funding anti-Bibi election campaigns with U.S. taxpayer dollars.

“Obama’s button men have made the ‘Get Bibi’ machinery a permanent part of the Israeli political landscape” (Tablet, March 2).

Israel and America are both sliding into tyranny! That is what it is when a few people can overthrow elections and laws and persecute politicians and ordinary people alike.

Warring for Israel

This horrific situation is described in your Bible in 2 Kings 14:26-27: “For the Lord saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel. And the Lord said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.”

What is recorded here in Kings is not just history. It is also prophecy for this end time. The book of Kings is one of the former prophets. After all, it was written by prophets, and prophets prophesy! The descendants of ancient Israel, which include the United States and the Jewish state called Israel today, are suffering bitter affliction, and there is no helper!

The book of Amos speaks of the kingdom of Judah during the reign of King Jeroboam ii, and it too is prophecy. Amos describes a final warning going out to the modern descendants of ancient Israel. Since this is a prophetic book, it shows that Jeroboam ii was an ancient type of a modern leader. 2 Kings 14’s prophecy of bitter affliction—and God saving us through the hand of one man—is prophecy for right now.

King Jeroboam ii was not a righteous man. He did evil and committed the same sins against God that the first Jeroboam committed. Nevertheless, the Bible records something remarkable: God actually used this unrighteous king to save the nation.

Israel was nearly blotted out of existence! God granted mercy when Israel was especially undeserving of it. Rather than sending Israel into captivity at that time, God used this king to give the kingdom one last period of safety and even prosperity before it faced a reckoning for the sins it never repented of.

Since March 2017, I have repeatedly shown that Donald Trump fulfills the role of an end-time Jeroboam. God is using him to save America from being destroyed by the radical left.

The next verse brings Judah into the picture: “Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which belonged to Judah, for Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?” (verse 28).

After the word saved in verse 27, here is another, stronger word: warred. The end-time Jeroboam must wage war to recover something. As I write in America Under Attack, harmonizing this with other prophecies reveals that it is a stolen presidency that he will war to recover.

Verse 28 strongly indicates that Mr. Trump recovers his presidency by some kind of warring—which strongly indicates a method other than a vote! It seems certain to me that this will happen before the 2024 presidential election, unless there would be some kind of warring and voting combined. But this verse does not even hint of an election.

Verse 28 also states that Jeroboam recovered Damascus and Hamath. The Soncino commentary states that Damascus was once ruled by King David, and that the king of Hamath paid tribute to David and became part of his son Solomon’s kingdom (2 Samuel 8:9-10; 1 Kings 8:65). So Jeroboam ii reclaimed something to help the kingdom of Judah, the descendants of whom are the Jews today.

This verse ties the politics of the United States and the Jewish nation of Israel in the Middle East together. While he is warring for Americans against the deep state in the U.S., Donald Trump will recover something for the Israelis!

Now we see America and Judah under attack in the same way, by the same enemy. When Donald Trump wins his battle at home, he will also help Judah.

There is also a connection here to God’s work. Isaiah 40:9 shows that God’s Church in this end time has a message that must be delivered to “the cities of Judah.” That message is: “Behold your God!” A worsening security situation in Israel could severely hamper our ability to deliver that message.

It appears Mr. Trump may have to recover some of Judah’s freedom for God’s work to even be able to deliver God’s message to the cities of Judah.

A More Dangerous Enemy

Barack Obama and the deep state are not the only ones working against Netanyahu.

The Latin patriarch of Jerusalem is one of the most senior figures in the Catholic Church in the Middle East. Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa made some horrible attacks on Netanyahu in April. Speaking to the Associated Press, he condemned what he called Netanyahu’s “far-right government” and said it is contributing to an increase in attacks on Christians. “The frequency of these attacks, the aggressions, has become something new,” he said. “These people feel they are protected … that the cultural and political atmosphere now can justify, or tolerate, actions against Christians” (Times of Israel, April 13).

The facts paint a different picture. Israel is one of the only places in the Middle East where the number of Christians is rising. In all the examples of attacks on Christians that the AP recounted in this interview, those responsible were swiftly arrested and are being prosecuted—not tolerated or protected! In almost every case, senior police officers clearly condemned the attacks and emphasized how seriously they take this issue.

The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (camera) accused Pizzaballa and the AP of making “overt politicized allegations against the Israeli government and police, reflecting ancient libels that vilify Jews through charges proven false by facts” (April 24).

Why would the patriarch tell this lie?

God says He will use Donald Trump to save America and recover something for Judah. But He will not do so permanently: Once God’s warning message is proclaimed during the time of Jeroboam, God says, “I will not again pass by them any more” (Amos 7:8). He will pass by this last time to show three end-time nations of Israel—the United States, Britain and the Jewish nation—how to solve their problems and to warn them of the consequences of rejecting Him.

2 Kings 14:28 tells us that Donald Trump’s return affects the politics of both America and Judah to enable that message to go out. Conditions improve in both these nations for a time.

But if we don’t repent and turn back to God, then more curses are coming. And there is an enemy out there even more dangerous than Barack Obama and the radical left!

Even in recent history, the Vatican has proved itself an enemy of the Jewish people. In World War ii, the Nazis were responsible for the murders of 6 million Jews. And a mountain of evidence shows that the Vatican was complicit in that colossal Holocaust!

One Catholic author received access to Vatican records, and he was shocked at what he found and how anti-Semitic and hateful the Vatican was toward the Jews. It has been absolutely proved that even after the Nazis lost World War ii and the horrors of the Holocaust were becoming known to the world, it was the Vatican that helped almost all of the Nazi officers escape through its “ratlines”! Adolf Eichmann probably killed more Jews for Adolf Hitler than any other man. Yet he escaped to the current pope’s home country of Argentina. And he did it with help from the Vatican. How can the Catholic patriarch in Jerusalem accuse Netanyahu of being “far right” and not hang his head in shame for this history? Why didn’t he lament and repent of what his church has done to the Jews? The fact is, he and the leaders of his church have never repented of what they did!

And World War ii is just the latest example. Look back in history. The fact remains that in the Middle Ages the Catholic Church killed some 300,000 people in its Inquisition. And that is only a portion of the 50 million it is estimated to have killed in all its wars and persecutions between a.d. 606 and 1847, including the conquest of the Aztec Empire, the Crusades, the Irish Rebellion, the Thirty Years War and so on. These are the extremes to which it will go to increase its power! And it will do everything it can to blot out that history and hide its evils in order to ultimately regain such fearsome power in the world.

Look at the horrors the Vatican-guided “Holy” Roman Empire has committed throughout the ages. The Bible literally gives you a picture of it. God is the greatest and most masterful user of symbols, and He depicts the Holy Roman Empire very appropriately: as a beast—a great monster like you’ve never seen before! It is a political-military beast guided by a political-religious beast. That resurrected modern Holy Roman Empire, led by Germany and the Vatican, is about to burst on the world scene.

This beast is ridden and guided by a woman. “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication” (Revelation 17:2). God uses these symbols to describe an entity that has intoxicating power over people around the world because it has had relations with the political leaders of many nations. In the Bible, God uses a woman to represent a church. This woman is very powerful. “[A]nd I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth” (verses 3-5).

God has a plan to deal with Barack Obama. He wants Americans, the British and the Israelis to have a final opportunity to repent. But if we don’t use that time to turn to God, the Holy Roman Empire is rising up already! Bible prophecy shows that the damage Obama has done to America is only a prelude to a much more devastating conquest at the hands of this foreign conqueror.

A Prophesied Betrayal

Ezekiel is a prophetic book for this end time. Ezekiel 23 contains a powerful warning to both America and Judah.

“The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother: And they committed whoredoms in Egypt …. And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah” (verses 1-4).

This may sound complicated, but it isn’t. The sisters Aholah and Aholibah symbolize the two sister kingdoms that emerged from the kingdom of Israel. One kept the name kingdom of Israel and included 10 tribes, with a new capital in Samaria. The others kept the capital of Jerusalem and took a new name, the kingdom of Judah. These “were mine,” God said. He worked closely with those Israelite peoples and was in fact married to them (Jeremiah 3:14; 31:32).

The 10 tribes of the kingdom of Israel were conquered by the Assyrian Empire and taken captive. Their identity became lost, but they would ultimately become Britain and the United States and several other Western nations. Aholibah represents the Jews, whose identity has remained known over the millenniums. This prophecy is about the Jewish nation of Israel in the Middle East.

“And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours, Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses. Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself” (Ezekiel 23:5-7).

These scriptures show how America, Britain and Israel became lovers of the Assyrians. Who are the Assyrians? We have proved for years that, in Bible prophecy, Assyria refers to the modern nation of Germany. (Read “The Remarkable Identity of the German People.”

Most of this prophecy revolving around Judah’s love affair with Assyria is yet to be fulfilled. Notice that God specifically references the “captains and rulers” of Assyria who are “clothed most gorgeously.” This is referring to the military might of Assyria. Germany displayed it powerfully in World Wars i and ii, and will wield it mightily yet again before and during World War iii as it leads Europe’s fearsome Holy Roman Empire.

Verses 9-10 show what will become of America and Britain because of this immoral tryst: The Germans “slew her with the sword” and “executed judgment upon her”! This relationship ends with a massive double cross that brings these nations down! Judah experiences a similar fate (verse 22).

Why would God allow this to happen to America, Britain and the Jewish state? It is His correction against these nations for their sins. “The Lord said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations” (verse 36). God will not tolerate the abominations taking place in Israel and Judah, and He has His people declare their sins to them.

God is revealing what is happening in this end time, and uses a little group of people to declare these prophecies to the world by first explaining the identities of these biblical peoples.

Donald Trump will temporarily save Israel, thus allowing this warning message to go out one last time. But if our peoples continue to commit these abominations, a fearsome enemy is coming! This is terrible news, but it leads to wonderful news, as verse 49 reveals: “and ye shall know that I am the Lord God.”

God will use this power to punish, but it will lead all our nations to know God. He will then be able to help them know what happiness really is. There will be no more corrupt government or tyranny ever again.
