Iran Now Has Near Weapons-Grade Uranium
The International Atomic Energy Agency (iaea) detected Iranian uranium that has been enriched to 84 percent purity, the Wall Street Journal reported on February 19. Ninety percent is widely considered to be the necessary threshold to produce a nuclear bomb. This means Iran is on the verge of going nuclear.
Wall Street Journal cited three senior anonymous diplomats—adding that the iaea said it was aware of media reports and “is discussing with Iran the results of recent agency” reports.
Rapid development: Three years ago, Iran’s uranium was at 4.5 percent enrichment. By 2021, it had shot up to 60 percent. During that time, Iran more than tripled its uranium stockpile. With enrichment now at 84 percent, it’s only a matter of time before it reaches that dangerous threshold of 90 percent and produces multiple nuclear bombs.
The worst foreign-policy blunder: Iran’s rapid nuclear advancement should come as no surprise. President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal, which had lifted sanctions and supplied the Iranian regime with cash in exchange for setting arbitrary nuclear limits. Iran never adhered to these limits, yet it received the means to finance a nuclear program. And it has been doing so ever since.
When asked about its nuclear ambitions, Iran, the number one state-sponsor of terrorism, says its nuclear work is purely peaceful.

The U.S. and the European Union lifted sanctions on Iran, released over $100 billion in frozen assets, and welcomed Iran into a whole rush of economic deals. And they received nothing in return.
Iran changed nothing in its policies of aggression, subversion and sponsoring terrorism. It didn’t even say it would reform in any of these areas! Without giving in on anything, Iran was given all it needed in order to greatly accelerate its race toward getting the nuclear bomb.
This deal does not make the world safer—it is a disaster for the world! And the fact that many people say it’s a cause for celebration is a sure sign of tragically broken leadership.
