Germans Blame the Climate Apocalypse on America

Our public is trained to believe that the greatest crisis facing mankind is climate change. Almost half of Germans believe capitalism has led the world into the climate crisis, according to a representative survey conducted by the Civey polling institute on behalf of Spiegel magazine, which cited the survey in December.

Spiegel suggests that the “climate-killer” capitalistic economic order needs to change.

In many places, governments and corporate headquarters, intellectual thinkers and pragmatists are asking a fundamental question: Can we continue with this economic order? With a climate-killer capitalism that is trimmed for more and more: more and more consumption, profit, growth? And in doing so, always produces more injustice?
Spiegel, December 30

Blaming America: Blaming capitalism for something as intangible and unprovable as climate change is absurd, but nothing new. In 2010, Handelsblatt noted the following survey from the opinion research institute tns Emnid commissioned by the Bertelsmann Stiftung:

  • 3 out of 4 would accept a lower increase in material prosperity if it meant that the environment could be preserved and public debt reduced.
  • 9 out of 10 Germans would like to see a new economic order that prioritizes the environment and social balance over material prosperity.

A deceived public: As with every big lie, there is some truth to it: Our planet is polluted and materialistic. But the big lie is that prosperity is causing a climate apocalypse and a social divide. People are trained to believe that a return to general poverty is good; capitalism needs to be replaced by socialism; the government needs to intervene. These sentiments are channeled into a hatred for the American system.

A disguised hatred for God: As the late educator Herbert W. Armstrong explained in The United States and Britain in Prophecy, God intervened in world affairs in the 1800s to fulfill the promises He made to Abraham—despite the sins of Abraham’s descendants. He brought the world prosperity to show what could have been had they obeyed. The recent attack on the remnant of what made America great is nothing less than an attack on God’s intervention in mankind’s history.
