France Is Fulfilling Bible Prophecy
America and France are clashing verbally in front of the whole world, fulfilling a mighty Bible prophecy that portends both danger and hope for America. France has aligned itself with the Holy Roman Empire, which Jesus Christ will crush when He returns to bring peace and joy to the Earth—the greatest event in the universe.

Anchored to Germany
In a November interview with the Economist, French President Emmanuel Macron said the United States is “turning its back on us.” He continued: “What we are currently experiencing is the brain death of nato.” This was a response to U.S. President Donald Trump agreeing to remove U.S. troops from part of northeast Syria so Turkey could attack the Kurds, a U.S. ally that fought in Syria against the Islamic State.
Mr. Trump has called nato members (which include France) “delinquent” for not paying their share of defense spending. He responded to Mr. Macron, saying his criticism of the U.S. was a “very, very nasty statement.”
Also in November, Macron lobbied for the creation of a European Union army. Foreign policy analyst Nile Gardiner denounced him and other European elites as “delusional.” Mr. Trump labeled the idea “insulting.”
Why is Macron speaking out so boldly? Students of history know that America and Britain virtually saved France in World Wars i and ii. Yet, less than a century later, France and the rest of Europe have anchored themselves to Germany—the nation that started both of those wars! The EU was established supposedly to prevent Germany from causing mass-scale destruction and bloodshed ever again, not to allow Germany to multiply its power and dominate the entire Continent!
The late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher warned in 1995: “You have not anchored Germany to Europe. You have anchored Europe to a newly dominant, unified Germany. In the end, my friends, you’ll find it will not work.”
America and Britain took a calculated risk to rearm Germany through the Marshall Plan after World War ii. Your Bible proves that risk wasn’t calculated very well! I believe Mr. Macron would never speak so combatively unless Germany approved. Essentially, he is a kind of puppet to Germany. In other words, in spite of Mrs. Thatcher’s warning, France is anchored to Germany.
Prophetic Identity of France
Israel is God’s chosen people—but are you sure you know the identity of Israel today? “And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father” (Genesis 49:1-2). Jacob’s name was changed to Israel when God converted him. His sons were the forefathers of the 12 tribes of Israel, all of which are nations on the world stage right now. This prophecy is for the “last days,” meaning today! None of this makes sense unless we understand the identities of these nations.
The focus of God’s promises to Israel is on the two birthright nations (America and Britain) and the scepter nation (Judah, or the Jewish state in the Middle East). God will punish them the most because they have been so richly blessed yet have never really heeded His warning.
Reuben is France. (Study Herbert W. Armstrong’s book The United States and Britain in Prophecy for proof.) “Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power” (verse 3). Being the firstborn son, Reuben should have received the birthright blessing—not Manasseh and Ephraim, the forefathers of America and Britain, respectively. Instead, Manasseh became the greatest single nation, and Ephraim the greatest empire, in world history. The Jewish state received God’s royal line—King David’s throne.
What went wrong for Reuben? “Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch” (verse 4). Reuben fornicated with his father’s concubine (Genesis 35). France, both anciently and today, has had a problem with sexual impurity. France is also “unstable as water,” or easily manipulated—by Germany, for example.
God doesn’t hate the French people! He offers both praise and criticism in Genesis 49. But He also warns strongly about France’s attachment to the Holy Roman Empire. God doesn’t hate the Germans either. In fact, He says He gives them the idea to resurrect the Holy Roman Empire as a weapon of punishment against the modern nations of Israel (Revelation 17:17).
Britain approved Brexit in 2016 and again even more decisively in recent weeks. The common people there can see the dangers of being anchored to Germany, and they want out of the EU! For nearly a century, God has warned through Mr. Armstrong and through me about the rise of Germany. History makes clear that the Holy Roman Empire has shed much blood and is ready to do so again. The Need for a Shepherd
Back to the blessings of the two birthright nations: “Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)” (Genesis 49:22-24). Joseph’s blessings were inherited by his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim—America and Britain.
We don’t have to wonder why our nations have been blessed like no other. God explains why right here! The great patriarch Abraham obeyed God, so God blessed his descendants unconditionally—regardless of their obedience to Him.
The “stone of Israel” mentioned in verse 24 is a type of the throne of David, but it’s also a type of Jesus Christ—our Rock, our Shepherd. He watches over us and blesses us beyond what we can imagine. God wants us to look to our Shepherd. What is a physical blessing worth without God? Apart from Him, every blessing will eventually turn into a curse. Without our Shepherd, our nations will be devoured by the ravenous wolves of the world.
Anciently, Reuben betrayed Joseph (Genesis 37). This history is prophesied to repeat itself. France is a part of the modern descendants of ancient Israel, yet it will betray its own brothers!
God has a plan to help prepare our nations for the French betrayal. “So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me” (Ezekiel 33:7). God sets up this watchman to warn our nations. You need to know and prove where this warning message is coming from.
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” (verse 11). The warning coming from God’s watchman couldn’t be any stronger! God doesn’t want our nations to die! He pleads with the people to turn, turn, turn from evil back to our Shepherd.
The Prophet Daniel talks about God’s saints possessing His Kingdom. Those who are loyal to God today will have the highest positions of authority in God’s Family for eternity! No one else will ever have an opportunity like this! Get behind this warning message to the nations of Israel. God will bless you abundantly in every way if you do.
