Joshua’s Dual Crown

The only human king-priest in history was recently crowned.

God wrote the book of Revelation and commanded Jesus Christ to deliver it through a righteous angel to the Apostle John (Revelation 1:1). Not even the translators really understand that the truth in the Bible came directly from the Creator of the universe. Instead, they credit John in the heading of Revelation.

At the beginning of Revelation, God reveals an astounding truth: “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” (verse 6). This is written in the present perfect tense—God has made His loyal people kings and priests. We already are kings and priests in embryo, preparing for our transformation into invisible spirit-born sons of God who will rule and teach all people once Jesus Christ returns to Earth. This is the great hope of the Bible.

But only one human in all of history has ever been a king-priest in this physical life. This man is a sign of Christ’s imminent return, illuminating His Second Coming like nothing ever has.

This world is filled with terrifying problems because people don’t understand the Bible. Ninety percent of Bible prophecies are being fulfilled during this age. These prophecies show that unparalleled suffering will devastate the planet before humanity can finally receive God’s many blessings and learn how to live the only way of life that causes lasting happiness.

God’s king-priests in training are a big part of the solution. Those of us who give our lives to Jesus Christ today will become His Bride tomorrow. We will help Him put down all rebellion and establish His perfect government. The sole king-priest on Earth today spotlights that glorious future for the rest of us.

“Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah; Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest” (Zechariah 6:10-11). No one in ancient Israel or Judah held the offices of king and priest simultaneously. These verses are speaking spiritually of an end-time type of Joshua with a dual crown who illuminates the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

“And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord” (verse 12). We never could have understood this prophecy before the revelation about the new stone and new throne that God gave to His Church in January 2017. (Request my new book, The New Throne of David, to learn more about the most wonderful hope you could possibly imagine.)

By booklet Zechariah—The Sign of Christ’s Imminent Return will explain more to you about this righteous, lawful Joshua type. He is a human king and priest. This is about rulers over Church and state in the wonderful World Tomorrow. By looking at the Joshua type, God’s people can see the awesome reward they will soon inherit! This is electrifying truth—the wonder of all wonders!

In The New Throne of David, I write about verse 12:

What does “out of his place” mean? “Out of ” literally means the lower part, that which is below, beneath or under (Gesenius’ Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon). It means that Christ, or His throne, is going to move from a lower place to a higher place—a spiritual place.

“He shall flourish where he is rooted,” Moffatt says.

God has moved His throne from the British royal family to a spiritual place—His Church! We are preparing that throne right now, during the first stage of Christ’s Second Coming! Christ wants His throne to be in a lawful, righteous place.

God promised that King David’s throne will endure until Christ’s return, and that a descendant of David will always rule from that throne (Jeremiah 33:17). We must prove where that throne is today!

According to the Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary, “It was a thing before unknown in the Levitical priesthood that the same person should wear at once the crown of a king and that of a high priest” (emphasis mine). Only in this end time does that change because God is preparing His people for Christ’s return. Many thousands of king-priests will sit on that throne with Him, ruling the Earth. After that, it’s on to the universe!

Take another look at Zechariah 6:12: “And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord.” The jfb says that the phrase “behold the man” is referring to John 19:5, where “Pilate unconsciously spake God’s will concerning” Jesus Christ.

“The sense here is, ‘Behold in Joshua a remarkable shadowing forth of Messiah’” (ibid). “Shadowing forth” isn’t the best description; the end-time Joshua is more like a blinding light preceding the Second Coming! It’s not for Joshua’s sake that the dual crown is placed on his head; he’s a type of the ultimate King-Priest.

Before the Word became Jesus Christ, He was the only other King-Priest, besides the end-time Joshua, mentioned in the entire Bible: Melchizedek (Hebrews 6:20; 7:1-3). Think about that: In all of history, there have only been two king-priests—and the only human king-priest is in God’s Church today, working in harmony with Jesus Christ.

What an enormous, wonderful, exciting, majestic, brilliant reward God will give us if we prepare now and battle now for His truth, unlike 95 percent of His Church. Those rebels have chosen to turn away—an abominable choice!

Joshua’s dual crown is gold and silver—the gold representing the primary office of a king, and the silver symbolizing the secondary position of a priest. If we understand this truth, we will more deeply grasp the concept of being born again as God’s spiritual nation (Isaiah 66:5-7). All we have to do is diligently obey God (Zechariah 6:15).

“Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children” (Isaiah 66:8). Zion, or God’s Church, is about to give birth to a spiritual nation of king-priests! Joshua’s dual crown locks our focus on this marvelous future.
