America desperately needs healing. Serious people are sincerely considering the possibility that America could erupt in a second civil war!
Radio host and author Dennis Prager wrote an article on Townhall.com called “America’s Second Civil War.” A cnn news anchor accused President Trump of “clearly trying to ignite a civil war in this country.” Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is also a historian, said in a Fox News interview, “I think we should take the threat of civil war very seriously.” “What you’re seeing with Antifa, what you’re seeing on college campuses, what you’re seeing, to some extent, in the bureaucracy, is a real division of the country,” Gingrich said. “As a historian, my view is pretty straightforward: One side or the other wins.”
In an article called “There Will Be No Winners in the Second Civil War,” Newsmax.com concluded: “[M]any people see war not only as imminent, but as virtually inevitable. If that’s the case, we’d better get busy digging ourselves bunkers … and graves” (August 25).
How serious is this issue? The first civil war cost almost as many American lives as all other American wars combined! But another eruption of violence between Americans would be far worse. If the country plunges into infighting, many foreign nations will be ready to pounce. America is the wealthiest nation in history: If it continues to destroy itself, nations like China, Russia, North Korea, Iran and others will destroy whatever the civil war doesn’t as they vie for the loot. The American superpower will become history, and a third world war, with multiple nuclear powers, will follow.
