The United States just passed a $2 trillion stimulus package without many politicians even reading it. Will the madness ever end? Or is this the new normal?

One influential scientist is walking back his previous doom-and-gloom forecasts about the coronavirus and is now saying the outbreak won’t be as bad as he originally thought. Problem is, the U.S. and Britain have already taken extreme measures based on his original prognostication. For many of these radical measures, there is no turning back. What will be the cost of this massive overreaction?
