Bahrain Seizes Iranian Explosives

Bahrain seized on Thursday explosives and bomb-making materials reserved for use in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Bahrain accused Iran of attempting to use Bahrain’s borders as a base for attacking the region.

The methods used to assemble the explosives were similar to those used by groups linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, police chief Maj. Gen. Tariq al-Hassan claimed. Hassan said the discovery of the bomb-making materials proved that extremists are more frequently using Bahrain’s borders to launch terrorist attacks. Bahrain frequently accuses Iran of trying to overthrow its monarchy.

Iran denied that it had involvement in the incident.
