Diplomat: Nuclear Talks Stalled

Nuclear talks between Iran and the so-called P5+1 nations in Vienna, Austria, have stalled, according to a diplomat quoted Friday by the Russian news agency tass.

The diplomatic source said that the deadline for a final deal may be extended again. If that happens, that would be the fourth time since the negotiations began in November 2013 that the nations missed their self-imposed deadline.

The P5+1 nations—the United States, the United Kingdom, China, France, Russia, plus Germany, are trying to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Iran denies any military applications to its nuclear program. Iran’s own words and actions, however, indicate otherwise.
