Greek Leader Heads to Brussels to Defend Deal Proposal

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras headed to Brussels for financial meetings on Wednesday.

While there he aims to persuade Greece’s creditors to accept a proposal that may unlock delayed bailout loans. He stated, “We need unity, we must avoid division. I am certain the political leadership of Europe will do what it must. It will sign up to realism.”

Greece is anxious to obtain much-needed bailout cash as it owes international creditors $8.1 billion.

The first repayment of $334 million is due on Friday, followed by three more payments on June 12, 16 and 19.
